Benefits of leveling up

So, a lot of players complain and complain about all the new updates that only affect the top players. But I was thinking this, leveling up affects everyone no matter what, so why not benefit from leveling up instead of just for looks? The current max cap is now level 300 pretty crazy. All players can get been fits from from reaching a milestone level wise or so!
Example:
lv 10: 10k gold
lv 20: 1% time building reduction
lv 30: 5% off cost of buildings
(and once again, this is just an example)
(also there could be level bonuses that helps benefits your clan such as if there are clan wars, clan-mate's weapons could attack more or so)

all should know that you game exp from upgrading buildings, but you are able to gain exp from donating as well! After maxing your buildings, you can only donate to gain exp (does raiding give exp?)

Pros:
-benefits all players
-all players have something to do without extreme gemming
-could bring back player level over rank since there would be a purpose
-something new without having to do with raiding or upgrading
-promotes donating
-adds something for people to work for besides trophies
-adds meaning to levels

cons:
-people may still rage about things like high level players get more bonuses
-clans may be much more level exclusive

Well, comment, rate, add ideas, etc
woule love to see some ideas for bonuses and how this would go!

raiding does give you XP, when you destroy their town hall. If they have a lvl 6 TH, you get 6XP, lvl10 TH, 10XP, etc.

I like the idea of if you level up then you get special things

I agree with this idea because over the time I've played Clash of Clans At the start i though levels were the most important thing but i found that levels don't matter at all really so i think this should be added to the game

I would like this because i donate around 4k troops a week. Giving me more advantages for donating

How do you know what supercell has to go through??? You said basically the same thing on my thread. You don't like updates do you? You seem to have all the answers for why not to update certain things but absolutely no constructive criticism. So please ♥♥♥♥ about how much work supercell has to do to add things to their game, they made one of the most popular games on the App Store I'm sure they are making more than enough money and have enough people to do whatever the hell they want.

No one has really said much of anything about levels except the fact that they are useless, and again, I have said in the idea that they were examples and that I was hoping for some ideas. Just something to make levels more valuable, because when you level up "oh look I'm level -- now" -goes back to doing what ever- nothing about levels matter and there is a level 300 cap, atleast having milestones will be good, just something other than trophies to work for

If it was me I'd have made the castle increase in size based on your level. So get the most troops in it you have to have a high level.

Well that would make it op, since you might as well have another camp with troops being donated by your clan mates, but nice idea!

Basically i haven't seen any one post a level up benefits before so including perks would make levels more important

Why hasn't supercell put you on their pay roll yet?

But second idea not so. Why? Because in high level gameplay, offense obviously has the advntage over defense so it will make it more imbalanced

Great idea. I have never really paid attention to level, except when I was about to reach 100, so a small reward would be nice.

but when you level the game is only meant to get harder not easier...

I would like something special from lvling up because at the moment it means nothing to me...

I certainly wouldn't mind some further benefit to level ups. Even if it's very small.

At the moment they are only a reasonable indicator of how long you have been playing the game - nothing more.

Possible bonuses for level up: (can only be obtained from levelling up)

• Traps: (given x amount, no more after that)
  
  • Superglu: Slows troops around a certain area
  • Smoke bomb: Stop troops in tracks for x seconds.
  • Mini spring trap: Bounces troops to a corner
  
  
• Spells: (Given x amount, no more after that)
  
  • Confusion spell: Confuses troops. Defenses will attack theirselves for x seconds.
  • Double loot spell: Double the loot available to grab in a particular area. (Credits to whoever)
  • Existing spells: Let lower level players, e.g. level 20 try rage or jump. Extra motivation
  
  
• Troops: (Can only be deployed once)
  
  • Existing troops: Like tutorial, let lower players try high-tiered troops, e.g. dragon L1, hog L1
  • Wandering troops: Troops from the forest helps you out. Like clan castle, can only be deployed once.
  • SuperCell Staff: An employer from supercell goes to the battlefield and starts to attack due to stress.
  • Barbarian and archer's offspring: Girly barbarian that uses a bow.

maybe they can make it so you need to be a certain lvl to go up town hall to prevent people from rushing there town hall and screwing themselves

I like the idea of bonuses for levelling up but maybe just a small handful of gems each level as 1% less building time is quite a big ask.

Right now there is a pekka statue you can only buy at a certain level, if you are into those things.

i think a better idea would be unlocking or customizing skins/color palettes for the troops, and have it cost gems or unavailable to lower lvl players. This wouldnt cause any gameplay imbalances or people griping about unfair advantages.

and yes, I agree. I'm lvl 115 and i see no point to it anymore other than to gauge how much of a gemmer other people are.

It would be great if they now show the lvls again in the chat and clan. Also it would be cool for if you ge to lvl70 or 80 that you have 1 free upgrade, this will not cost you any resources or time to make. You can upgrade everything, buildings and troops.

In other iOS games you see mostly that if you lvl up you earn one special gem. Why not do the same in Clash of Clans? Every lvl up gives you one gem extra? Won't affect the game much and by donating you lvl up pretty fast. Triggers people to donate! :)

but, I'm lvl 100 now. What do we do with the folks who reached a high lvl already?? I missed the previous lvl up bonuses then...

And yea, but games like those such as puzzle and dragon, you only need 5 whatevers so that you can get a chance for a new monster either rare or weak. But for clash of clans, 1 gem/450? For 10% of your storage, so yea doesnt exactly effect you at all like you've said, I believe people would like unique perks where like someone said before, special customizing of kins and such, but like the general idea! And yes that's the point of having perks for ideas because donating greatly affects the rate you level (:

I like the general idea. I don't like the sample bonuses. I think it should be bonuses that aren't permanent, e.g. 10,000 gold, 50 gems. I also don't like the skins and stuff that other people were mentioning. Not only would it be a pain to make all new art for every single troop, it's just not needed.

This is a great idea, except one flaw. 1% build time off of lets say an 8 day wizard tower is just around and hour off, I don't think this would help that much. (It might help if you want it to be finished before you have to go somewhere etc.) but otherwise I don't see that big of a difference.

I am not a fan of this idea simply because there are thousands of other games where your level determines your progress and unlocks things for you. I like how Clash of Clans allows you to determine how important your level is to you, and I don't want this to become a game where you are constantly anticipating the next level so you can get a little bonus. However, I do like the idea of bonuses, so long as if they are implemented in a way unrelated to your level.

I'd like them to make something like whenever you level up it gives you a small amount of loot/gems example:

Recieve 1 gem for levelling up or 1000 elixer / gold (gets higher the higher the level)

I think the cost reduction is bad b/c its preety much just lowering the price of everything for everyone b/c we are usally all at the same place at lvl 30

I think that their should be a Hero whose power is based of of your Level.... Maybe like a Level Wizard

I also believe we should have achievements for reaching certain levels

The only reward I see them giving for each lvl up would be 5 gems or so. I think it would be highly unlikely for Supercell to reward players with reductions of upgrading and building.

Thx for the replies guys, yea I understand that it is highly unlikely this will be implemented but that can't be said about any idea, you don't know, maybe they will give this a try because like I said, this is just an idea so that there would be actual meaning to having a level at all because come on, what is the point in even see a person's level? "Hey he is level 116? Wow cool he much have played alot" that is it, yea there may be level requirements to join some clans but mainly, level is just for show. But the max level is 300 right now so why even bother? Isnt it more fun to have a reason to try leveling up faster by donating alot more? Unlike people who can gem their way, donating isnt gem-able and you actually can't use money for that. So point of this idea are 2 things 1) give meaning to your leveling up and 2) motivation for alot more donations
