Wouldn't it be cool to be able to customize the appearanceof your own troops? (some special/cool looking features need to be unlocked with levels achievements or gems) but on EVERYONE else's screen it'd look normal. It would make the game more interesting for yourself without affecting it for everyone else or alter the balance of the game. And extra revenue for SC ay?;)
What do you mean more exactly with these customizations? I cannot really understand what they could be, apart from changing the colour of the troops which would be painful to watch.

I love cosmetic changes and who would object to such a notion like giving your troops a little extra flair, so we must evaluate how this will affect the game.
This is a cosmetic change to the game, worse yet, its one that only you can appreciate. The point of achievements is to show what you've accomplished and how do people know what you accomplished if only you can see it. Why would I dress up if the only person I have to impress is myself.
O thats okay, just let everyone see them. Nope, because I use the default designs as a quick way to determine troop level in replays and attacks(Enemy CC Troops)! It would get very difficult to identity troops.
