What makes clash the hit game it is?
is it because the time and exspensive upgrade costs to progress?
is it the fame of being the best?
is it because of the fact you can play anywhere at any time?
i don't know the answer and more to the point why we put are selfs through this torment! Lol

I play it because it is addictive, and I appreciate the level of communication that comes with it.
Its original & competitive, people moan about the updates, but their have been so many game changers since the game came out that it freshens up the game each time ones released
It's just a good game and I like the interaction between you and the game itself! :thumbsup:

Well, I've noticed that when i go clanless, the absence of wars and the lack of clan chat suddenly makes the game excessively boring for me. So maybe that's what keeps me hooked.
Plus the forums are hilarious.
Don't forget the clan chat and comradeship of working together on a common goal. I now have "friends" from Australia, Egypt, Denmark, Germany, Singapore, United Kindom, various parts of the USA, and a few others that I that I have been associated with for close to 3 years now. Our clan isn't the best and we don't win hundreds of wars in a row, but for some reason whenever someone leaves they almost always come back for a visit from time to time.
I'm not too sure, however I feel it's helped by people who used to play games such as backyard monsters, which means a lot of people who download clash of clans are familiar with the style of game, so they are more likely to keep playing.
Short answer: the detail involved that makes it a cut above.
The secret ingredient for clashes popularity?

The addictiveness, the strategy, and the whole social aspect of this game makes this game the way it is.
For me it is the multi-faceted levels of strategy. I am competitive by nature so I am compelled to build the best base and war machine in the most efficient way possible so I am successful in the game. Every base is unique, each requiring its own strategy. Even the success of clans during a war can hinge on their ability to develop a good strategy. I am very analytical and there is always something to challenge me in clash of clans. Thus I find myself playing it a lot.
The game is appealing to all levels of gamers from hardcore to casual. The system in place where other players can help out each other is ingenious. Being able to post replays within your clan to show how to execute attacks, or to ask where they went wrong, or even to show off a huge loot hit is just endlessly fun.
It's a detail oriented, #1 on the app store for most grosing for how long? Extremely addictive (think slot machine but your pulls are nexting, ane that 650k each raid thats like hitting a jackpot) coupled with the social aspect which i can easily kill 2 hours chatting with clan mates and the super quick upgrade time at the beginning and a seemingly endless goal of upgrading and getting better through the th levels and the fully customizeable bases that not a single one is "2 star proof" because of the constant tweakings and the extremely high skill cap, you have a top shelf game
I would have to say it's the social aspect, over the last two years I have made real friends in clash,
The reason it's a hit is because:
It's free to play and it stays cheap or free if you want it, without really losing much game play wise. Other games force you to pay or hit a wall that you can't get past. This allows a massive player base, which fuels the game.
Clans. These people become your friends and people you look forward to talking to and interacting with. Some people like this more than the game itself. You don't feel like you are playing alone and it's like hanging out with friends at an arcade feel to it.
It's has all the addictive elements that make these games take over people's lives. It's no secret that all the small rewards please your brain and make you crave more. Clash has a nice steady reward system that keep people hooked.
Clan wars. You can be maxed out in the game, but always have a goal and something to accomplish with war. This is like playing chess. It requires months/years of studying an practice to get good and almost impossible to master as there are so many base designs and combinations of troops etc.. People dedicate large chunks of their lives mastering attack strategies and fine tuning every aspect of their bases. This keeps people playing for years and years, even after the regular game had been finished.
Id say it helps how everything can be acquired for free, alot of mobile games nowadays pretty much require you to pay money to get the best of that game (be it armours, buildings etc) where as for clash of clans the only requirement is time, nothing costs gems and anyone can have the best if they work hard (defenses, heroes, troops etc)
