Alan's TH9 Progression Thread

Welcome all to my TH9 Progression Thread. My IGN is Alan and I'm the leader of Entone Massive. After being inspired by following Mungo's TH9 Progression Thread found here: (http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...ression-Thread) I though I would start my own to document my progress and thoughts along the way.

Background info:
Started playing clash Approx Oct 2014,
TH9 achieved on 18th July 2015.

I was not a defensively maxed at TH8 and my decision to move up to TH9 was based on the prospect of gaining better offensive troops for war as I am able to 3* alot of maxed TH8's in war with my Lvl 4 hogs.

I am going to try and hold off putting my Xbows down until I've got my war TH9 troops to the levels I would like.

I hope you enjoy my ramblings.

Current upgrade spec

Day 21 of TH9

My AQ went to Lvl 4 today.

Builder 1: Dark barracks to Lvl 5 (4 days, 22 hours left)
Builder 2: Wizard Tower to Lvl 4 (1 day, 19 hours left)
Builder 3: Air Defence to Lvl 5 (1 day, 18 hours left)
Builder 4: Spare for walls and object clearing

I've been raided for big losses over last few days while AQ was upgrading so I'm going to try and keep one builder free most of the time for walls.

My farming aim is DE approx 15k per day using Gibarch (level 5 troops at the minute).

I like the base layout so you can see each structure and upgrade left to do, I may have to use that! Well done sir!

I can't claim any credit for that, credits should go to Mungo I seen him use it too. Thanks for the comment though, hope you like the thread.

If you want my suggestion, always keep 1 builder open for walls and always keep 1 hero being upgraded.

Day 23 of TH9

Farmed 6 mil since last update to upgrade my giants to lvl 6 so just over 9 days to go.

Builder 1 - AQ upgrading to lvl 5 (1 day, 7 hours)

Builder 2 - Dark barracks to lvl 5 (2 days, 20 hours)

Builder 3 - Air sweeper to lvl 2 (2 days, 18 hours)

Builder 4 - free for walls and objects.

Day 25 of TH9

Farmed 5 Skull walls, Elixir for army camp upgrade and 20k DE. Giants 7 days, 6 hours left to go in lab.
Next on list to upgrade is Wizard Tower to lvl 5 and need to farm 12.5k DE before AQ goes to level 6.

Builder 1 - Army Camp to Lvl 7 (4 days, 16 hours)
Builder 2 - Dark barracks to lvl 5 (20 hours)
Builder 3 - Air sweeper to lvl 2 (18 hours)
Builder 4 - Free for walls and objects.

Just a side note we won another war against a good lvl 4 clan (5 wins out of last 6 wars so I think we are on a good roll). For me personally I picked up 5 stars without AQ too, so I was happy with that.:D

Day 27 of TH9

Last 2 days I have been pushing from G3 to C3 to find where the best DE is and I've found G2-G3 to be good with plenty of 1k+ DE bases so I'm going back down there. Farmed DE for AQ upgrade to Lvl 6, gold for Wizard tower upgrade, 1 lego and a few skulls.

Day 31 of TH9

I've not managed to get on Clash this weekend much so I've not done much farming. I have upgraded king to Lvl 7 and now AQ is Lvl 6. I'm using both of them to farm the 6 mil Elixir needed to upgrade balloons to max when lab is finished. I will get back to farming DE for AQ/BK upgrades after I've got the lab working again.

Day 34 of TH9

I decided to upgrade my barbs to lvl 6 first instead of balloons, my reasoning was that I use barbs to farm and I use hogs for war so I would get most benefit from them. Been using new lvl 6 giants and wow! they are amazing staying alive to tanks a lot longer so I think that farming will become better for me.

Going to get back to just farming DE purely now and dumping extra gold/Elixir into my walls I currently have: 132 purples, 112 skulls and 6 legos.

I've hardly played clash the past 4/5 days due to work commitments but I will get back to farming DE again.

Day 44 of TH9

For the bank holiday weekend I was away so I put all my builders to work and managed to upgrade my DE drill to lvl 4, a small bomb and nearly completed an AD to lvl 6. I've decided now is a good time to add my xbows for defense. In the last two wars I've been three starred by my war opponents number 1 (I'm number 2 in wars) so I think it's time to add them and hopefully stop the three stars.

Wall update I currently have: 121 purples, 121 skulls and 8 legos.

Day 46 of TH9

I've got back to farming DE for my hog to max upgrade and dumped all excess gold and elixir into my walls.

After doing a bit of spreadsheet calculations to max all my buildings to max for TH9 (mines, barracks, traps, etc included) its going to take a massive 660 days if I only used one builder. My heroes to lvl 30 each will take only 293.5 days. My lab will take 238 days to completely max out for TH9. So 953.5 days (all buildings & heroes) / 4 builders = 239 days rounded up.

So I would have to keep all my builders round the clock busy to completely max TH9 in 239 days. That is assuming I can farm the 76,806,000 gold, 30,854,000 elixir, just for buildings and traps. The 4,145,000 DE for heroes and the 44,050,000 elixir and 825,000 DE to complete the lab upgrades. Without putting a single piece of gold or elixir into the walls. I think I will face a tough task to do this so I have decided to try and keep one hero down at all times, keep one building on defensive building and another builder on a resource building. My last builder will be free for objects and to keep free for dumping excess resources into my walls. I will move up once my lab has been completely maxed out regardless if the rest of my building/heroes are not complete.

Apologizes for the longer post, what do you guys think or my TH9 progression plan?

Day 71 of TH9

Since my last update I've got max hogs now and Pekka is going to lvl 2 in lab, still only got one xbow down but now all my cannons are lvl 10. King will soon wake from his nap at lvl 10 and I've unlocked the lava hound.

Wall update I currently have: 101 purples, 132 skulls and 17 legos.

Day 75 of TH9

Since my last update I've decided to move from G3 to push onto M3. My aim is to get the Master league gem award to unlock my 5th builder. After reading some success threads on sniping higher up I've decided to give this a go. Having some success myself too, with a few hours sniping and raiding when I see a juicy base I managed to get gold for Xbow, tezla and I've got nearly 2mil waiting for a free builder so I can dump it into walls or my next defense upgrade.

I have noticed though less snipes in C3 compared to gold but you still see 200/200+ bases but you have to next far more to find them.

Wall update I currently have: 100 purples, 133 skulls and 17 legos.

Half way through my push to M3 I'm in C2 and man it's brutal, had 2mil gold and 4mil elixir (saving for ballon) and each time I log out I get hit hard for 350k elixir. Snipes are very rare in C2 too.

Day 81 of TH9

Made it to Masters 3. I have to say the league bonus is a nice addition especially when you hit a 350/350/1k base. I think I'm going to hang around here for a while and try and farm up here. Snipes are still few and fare between and I've got to use a much stronger army to farm but the extra bonus offsets the extra army cost.

With TH protected I kept getting hammered on defense by balloons and minions, I switched to TH outside and it's great, 1 to 3 star loses and I've had no full attacks at all. My walls have came on as well due to extra resources.

Wall update I currently have: 83 purples, 144 skulls and 23 legos.

Day 88 of TH9

Since my last update I've decided to moved from M3 back down to G2. I found the loot bonus good but I was nexting too much for my liking to find a 1k+ DE base to attack. I've hung round C2/C3 for a bit and the DE was better the M3 for me but I've worked my way back to my usual farming spot of G2.

Wall update I currently have: 65 purples, 158 skulls and 27 legos.

Day 98 of TH9

Since my last update I've been busy with work and a chest infection so I've not been as focused as I should be really but good news I've gained my 5th builder and I'm super happy about it. I'm starting to feel like a mid TH9 now with my attacking troops smashing other TH9's with ease. Enjoying raiding with my usual gibarch combo and adding 2 max healers in for good measure and it's working quite well. I've also got my AQ to lvl 10 now so chuffed about this too.

Wall update I currently have: 56 purples, 167 skulls and 27 legos.

Lab - Archer to Lvl 6 (7 days, 1 hour)
Builder 1 - Hidden Tezla to lvl 5 (5 days, 23 hours)

I have been using Giant healer combo with good success but I really want to try the super queen so I will be doing that over the next few days so I shall report back how I find it, hopefully I can keep the DE flowing to keep king down to lvl 15 and do a few lab upgrades too.

I've been upgrading my collectors to try and get them upto max level as I've never bothered to do this. I've been debating if to rush to TH10 to gain the extra offensive improvements of if to ride TH9 out to max. Going to try stay focused on DE and push upto C1-C3 and try farming DE there. I will try and keep a builder free to dump resources into walls while I keep DE for lab and royal upgrades.

I've had a lot going on outside of clash at the minute so I've decided to push on up the leagues to farm league bonus and DE there due to limited time available on clash at minute. Currently at war so king will go to asleep to lvl 12 once I've attacked too.

Wall update I currently have: 24 purples, 190 skulls and 36 legos.

Well it's been a busy few weeks outside of clash with the birth of my son so time on clash has been limited but I'm loving farming in Masters. The sneak peeks have been amazing too, I think this will fit perfectly into my playing style so I'm super excited about the update. Since my last update I've got AQ to 11 and BQ is upgrading to 14 at minute.

Thanks I did that with king to 13 and queen to 11 and it was good. I'm only 15k DE from putting AQ to lvl 12.

Day 148 of TH9

Well the new update has hit and my gosh I think this will be great for my playing style. I was debating if to make the jump to TH10 as one of my clan mates did before the update but I think I'm going to stay TH9 for a bit longer and work on my heroes while my defenses now become TH9 level defenses. I think also think that by having one builder free to dump excess resources into the walls this will now help me avoid being hit as often by players in the MM system.

WIth the new update econnomy will change a lot in the next 2-3 weeks, but good for you to have find a way to sill farm hard with the new situation.

I'am also mid TH9 and ahvent been attacked yet with the new shield system but I was low on DE now that I'm over 40k migth start to get some heat sooner or later!

So good luck on finishing def and getting those lego up while farming for your hero!

Day 152 of TH9

I'm still having fun attacking through the shield and I'm making good loot, been using balloonion with great results in C2 going to slowly work my way up to masters and use this attack style up there to get the extra win bonus.

I've tweaked my base design a bit to try protect DE and Gold I've been attacked 3 times and only lost a little gold and 900 DE (was showing 1900 and Max gold to attackers) I anticipate being hit for all me DE by a skilled attacker when I'm showing Max DE, I'm fine with that because I'm making it back 3/4 times over.

Wall update I currently have: 189 skulls and 61 legos.

Day 158 of TH9

I have to admit I like the new update alot. It's hard not to get totally wiped out but, for me, this is the challenge to create a base design that limits the amount of loot that gets taken. I'm about 2800 in M2 at the minute attacking with a hybrid army of healers, giants, wizards and barch. Cook time is 40min but when I'm shielded I wait until my heroes are available unless they are upgrading.

Happy New Year everyone, first update of 2016. I'm floating around 2600 trophies in M3 raiding using 2 hounds, 26 balloons and 15 minions. Progress has been moving along nicely but I'm debating when to make the move upto TH10.

Long time since my last update due to work commitments and family so my playing time has been limited in the last month. I'm progressing slowly towards TH9 max and still debating when is the right time to make the move upto TH10. I've dropped down to Gold 2 to farm there at the minute and see how that goes.
