No benefits from ongoing events

I am not getting any benefits from ongoing events, as such in the current event after serving my farm visitors, my xp earn is not getting double. This issue has been from quite some time and it's happening while all the events.
Plz help to rectify.

The current event is a town visitor event, not farm visitor. I made this mistake myself, so I wonder if this the case for you too? If you can see your town visitors' points, the XP and reputation points should be in pink to indicate that they are doubled.
