I'll be starting my th8 to th9 upgrade later today or tomorrow and am just wondering what strategy everyone uses when a new th is reached. I'm maxed out with everything at th8 except walls.
What do you do right after an update?
Start new researches? If so, spells, units, etc?
Get new buildings and upgrade them quickly?
Upgrade Defenses?
Just curious.

for a th9 the 1st thing should be to build your xbows (2 builders) , upgrade lab and upgrade spell factory. use your 5th builder for new buildings.
for th10 2 builders on infernols, one on lab, one on spell factory and 1 for new buildings.
Offense first always. If you build your new defense too quickly, in war you will face opponents that you won't be able to very well against, because you have the previous ths offense still. Once you get camps, sf, cc and some troops leveled up, then slowly start adding and upgrading your defense. If you don't war, then start building defense right away, as it will help defend your loot.Quote:

Above all. And especially as a new th9. Max your gold and elixir and get 400k in your cc. Get minimum 40k de. THESE ARE ESSENTIAL TRUST ME. For reference. You make 500k each every 24 hrs from max mines/collectors.
So once you have done that do these things...
1st builder: cc
2nd builder: spell factory
3rd builder: lab
4th builder: lvl 7 camp
5th builder: AQ then new traps then all new walls to lvl 5 then all new buildings.
After this immediately start farming elixir and elixir alone. You need a staggering amount of elixir soon. DO NOT STOP FARMING ELIXIR UNTIL CAMPS AND GIBARCH IS MAXED. That alone costs about 30 mil elixir... you will get gold and de as byproducts. Drop xbows when you can but not a huge priority. Lvl 1 are puny. Upgrade queen to lvl 5 asap.

Well, maybe I'll raid a few times with it to upgrade AQ and keep lab going.
Thankfully the collector boost event landed at just the right time, so that also helps. ;)
Priorities are different depending on how you play the game.
For instance, one previous poster had CC upgrade as first priority, while I wouldn't bother until much later.
For me, highest priority is army camps. one builder should be on those constantly until all upgraded.
2nd - lab (and as soon as that is done, start upgrading troops - again order depnds on your priorities)
3rd - Spell bowl
4th - AQ and new walls (instant, so doesn't tie up builder)
4th & 5th, new defence buildings (i.e. 4th tesla, 6th AT, 4th AD etc, plus the 2 XBows - though you may want to delay the XBows a bit if you war most of the time). New storages will be useful to do pretty quickly too.
Then I would keep at least 2 defences upgrading all the time until all the new ones are at max TH8 level. Probably 3 builders on this once spell bowl and lab are done.
But all the above are my priorities. Yours may be different.
it depends on which are your priorities. If your priority is to participate in war, at th 9, first get your queen (no time involved "only" 40k DE), your lab and spell factory (if you participate in war, make sure your spell factory is fully loaded for at least one succesful attack:) ), clan castle and then some defense buildings (better wait till after the start of war with these defense buildings, so they won't add to the determination of the enemy (little profit, but still, it can make a difference).
I moved to TH 9 with full storages so started both xbows and got the AQ the very next second my upgrade finished. Started lab upgrade with elixir and researched my barch first.. built new defenses, walls.. upgraded army camps/SF and all defenses to max TH 8 levels then started upgrading splash defenses, mortars/WT, then AT and cannons.
Offense > Collectors > Defense, always.
Dump loot into walls and heroes, that way you'll never need defenses

I agree with some of this. It is nice to see someone else that recognizes that there is no rush on getting xbows (defenses do not make playing the game any easier so they are not the priority). The CC is the only thing you can spend gold on that helps both your offense and defense so it is the priority for gold. Getting the lab started immediately is also important.Quote:

I personally will be following the '.5' philosophy.
Go the x.5 route if you are really into war...or even not into war. Just the best route imo. I did it for my main and my mini account. Gives me time to upgrade walls which I love to do.
I am following the 8.5 method. Want to be able to 3 star war opposition. Still struggle but my queen isn't lvl 5 yet so I am new to TH9. but I did my lab/queen/spell/army camp/cc as soon as I hit. I have maxed my hogs/heal spell/ 5 days till my loons are maxed. All camps a upgraded, my Dark barracks are both able to give witches, Dspell is now on its way to max, my DE storage is just now upgrading, DE Drills are lvl5 and AQ is lvl4 soon to be lvl 5. Also my new storages are built and maxed and new walls are all skulls. I have built 10+ legos. I am wrecking all TH8s in war and most low TH9s. The low mids and up are giving me issues that I think will start to get better when I get the queens ability.
So why tell you all this?
going through it right now I can say the AQ is a big Yes do it now. Get her leveled. You don't have her now so if you push her levels now you wont really know what you are missing. I got used to having her in war attacks and am worried about when I upgrade her so I can have her for wars. She makes that big of a difference.
But this is if war is a big focus for you.
If you don't war... then I would say defenses should take priority since the main goal for you will be keeping resources. But the AQ is huge for defense too so just don't ignore her whatever the case.
