Yes they add weight- but they are a big help in war. Dictate how you are attacked. Air attacks struggle vs maxed AD, central CC and AQ on a good base design. Jump and EQ spells are nice- but that takes away from your heal and rage spells. Again, I'm dictating to you how you have to come at me.

My approach is likely to get slated but it works for me...

I went to TH9 with all pink walls. Rather than waste elixir at TH8 I thought it much better to get going on those TH9 troops, and whilst saving up for high elixir costs, when I hit the elixir cap I've been keeping gold low by putting it into walls to stop people raiding me for combined high gold/elixir loot. My builders are still usually busy on defence upgrades.

I also have my town hall outside my base but I still maintain/gain trophies as I only lose a few trophies per snipe and usually 2-3 star a base when I attack. I'm never 3 starred, even when someone goes full army.

I also do not war and just use req n ♥♥♥♥ clans for defense troops.

So in summary - I think walls are not the be all and end all and grinding them is dull. However it is true that I would prefer to attack a base with pink/purple walls than skulls+.

I had level 7 walls going into TH9 and it didn't hurt me at all. I think it's worth it to just upgrade to TH9 and have a jump on the better defenses. If you have 5 builders huts sitting there with z's coming out of the roof you are potentially wasting months of time where you could be upgrading.

Once I finished my main defenses in TH9 I started catching up on walls. Skulls were a breeze and I was able to start on Legos while still doing Skulls because I had so much elixir.

yes do walls it is worth it.

Your problem is you left it for the end to do. If you had done a bunch as you worked your way through the process you wouldn't be staring at a miserable 3-4 weeks of just doing walls. I finished mine at TH8 and I am very happy I did as I could get my defensive upgrades started at TH9. TH9 is very Elixir heavy at the start and you will accumulate a ton of Gold but that means you can get your Clan Castle done and most, if not all of your new walls to 8 in no time.

I'm a Month into TH9 and I have all my camps done, along with my CC and most of my new defenses to TH8 level. I have not done XBows yet but I will get them done once My troops get up high enough to take on Mid Level TH9's in war.

Bottom line, Its your game and if you don't like the wall grind, just upgrade. I didn't mind grinding them out and learned a ton of different attacks because I had all the extra Elixir and DE to practice them.

Best response yet. :) exactly what I did. Except I started walls late so the last few weeks were straight walls. But I didn't mind.

Yes, you should do them. LVL 8 walls scare off attackers. What you should of done was keep one builder free all the time since the lab takes more time than the buildings.

yes, u will regret it when you get to th9. not only will u be behind on wall upgrades, but clans may not allow u in for such low lvl walls.
