5th Builder

I am a serious player but not too serious. I play about 2 hours a day. I currently have 4 builders and 2500 gems. Since the 1 gem boost, I have found myself with lots of resources, so I was wondering whether I should get the 5th builder. However when the boost goes I think I will struggle to keep 5 builders going.
Also, I still haven't hit masters so I can get some gems from that

Depends on your town hall in my opinion. If you are at 8, I'd say use those gems for something else.

I'm TH9, almost maxed defences. No where near with heroes or walls though

Definitely get that builder! You will be left with 500 gems, and as you mentioned, you can get a lot more from the masters league award of 1,000 gems. There's no point in waiting. What would you do with those extra 2,000 gems anyway? Gem resources? That's not a good idea. You will have plenty left over and many opportunities to get more. JUST DO IT!!! :)

Assuming 100 gems = $1, here's the effective breakdown:

1st Builder: N/A
2nd Builder: N/A
3rd Builder: $5 for 33% increase of overall build speeds (6.6% increase per dollar)
4th Builder: $10 for 25% increase of overall build speeds (2.5% increase per dollar)
5th Builder: $20 for 20% increase of overall build speeds (1% increase per dollar)

Worth is subjective - you'll have to decide for yourself if paying twice as much as the last builder with less overall effect is worth it to you. I can tell you you there are far worse ways to spend 2k gems, though.

Personally, I'd pass on the builder and save the gems for heroe ug, walls, or a th10 defense upgrade. Just me though.

I won't spend my gems on resources. Thanks for your opinion though

Get it for sure. you can keep 4 builders bust and dedicate one to walls. Best thing I've ever done.

I don't farm enough to have spare gold to dump on walls.

By your replies to everyone's suggestions it sounds like you are convincing yourself you don't need it. Personally I think the 5th builder is great. However, if you are a near maxed TH9 then you don't need it right now. Once you hit TH10 though it could be useful if you farm enough. Which is doesn't sound like you do. So I guess I would support your own feeling and say no, you don't need the fifth builder...yet.
