Think They Will Update EQ Spell at Some Point?

You guys think they will eventually update the Earthquake Spell so that it is worth maxing out?

Seems like a total waist to upgrade at this point in time. Only thing it is used for is to open up walls and if it takes 4 level 1 EQ or 4 level 4 EQ spells then why would anyone ever upgrade them? They cost more per spell and what little additional damage to surrounding structures they do at higher levels seems rediculous to me offhand.

Seems to me like they should either increase the damage to regular structures or increase damage to walls so that at level 3 or 4 it would only take two or three EQ to open walls up. Otherwise ... Again ... Why would we upgrade them if no real benefits?

And yes ... I have to admit I upgraded mine to level 3 before realizing it did nothing to help me ... So I kinda feel like a fool for doing so.

Anyways ... Just wondering what your thoughts are and if you have heard anything through the grapevine on any possible changes?

I assume they will update it. It doesn't make sense that 4 lvl 1 spells can tear down max walls. And I do not plan on upgrading it either.

I'm only going to use poison and haste anyway :Pp

Ya I think it would make more sense that it takes 4 level 4 spells to take down max walls and maybe 4 level 1 or 2 EQ could only take down say something like up to level 6 or 7 walls

If it takes more spells at lower levels it would be useless. Its like saying lvl1 jump spells should require two because they are only lvl1.

Not quite sure I agree with that reasoning ... There is a benefit to upgrading jump spells ... The spell lasts longer and gives your troops more time to use it. Compared to an EQ spell that with such little extra damage for upgrading it that there really is no benefit.

I understand your point on it and maybe most people will agree with you on it ... Just seems there should be some kind of benefit for upgrading it to me.

Based on the information on the earthquake spell, a lvl one does 6% (X4) damage. That means after using 3 spells, the wall will still have 40% health left. There is no way an additional spell should be able to destroy any wall that's @ 40% health. So it has to be a bug and thus will be corrected at some point.

I'm actually inclined to go the other way with it. It's fine that it takes 4 of these to tear down any level wall (after all, that's the same spell space as TWO jump spells; unless you literally want this spell to only be useful at TH8, nerfing this would be silly). If anything, leveling it up should have it take fewer spells to tear down various levels of walls (I think at max (whatever max is, maybe add another level), it should only take 3 to bring down max level walls).

BTW, to those that don't see the use in leveling it up, I present to you.... DATA.

Obviously the town hall is one of the highest HP structures in the game, but still... If you can use the spells and catch the edge of the TH while knocking down a bunch of walls you can effectively deal 40% damage to the TH (and really, any other structures you catch nearby). This is a huge advantage going in with an attack and having structures easy to knock down/finish off.

In case it's not clear from the table, the different rows (6, 8, 10, 12) are the different levels of earthquake spell available, and the six columns show the damage done consecutively with each spell and then the final total damage (and the percent damage dealt).

Would you want to drop them all on a concentration of builders huts? No. But if you can catch high HP defenses (inferno towers, cannons) and either the CC or TH, AND knock down some walls to make a path for your troops? That's amazing.

Thanks for the information and chart ... seems that right now as you point out ... using 4 EQ and catching 40% damage on other buildings near by (excluding Storages) is a good thing. I'm still inclined to see some changes but great example of what's going on with each level spell :-)

The other important note is that the Earthquake spell can potentially capture a 3 by 3 area of buildings in its radius.

With an 8 title radius, and it only needing to touch a building, it can weaken up to 9 buildings to 40% hp.

Now for a farmer, who cares. But for people warring or pushing every small advantage makes a difference.
