Journey To Max Town Hall 8

Hi Everyone! I have come across some threads like this in my time here on the forums including a th9 blog so I thought I would start up a journey to max town hall 8 blog or journal type of thing. Thanks to anyone that decides to check in from time to time. I'm halfway through town hall 8 so I apologize if I should have started this earlier. Also I'm pretty sure this is the right place to start this thread so sorry if it's not and if it is in the wrong place then mods please move it to the right place.

Background Info: am halfway through town hall 8. I am pretty active and all my defenses are maxed except archer towers and traps. I have lab upgrades and level 8 walls and archer towers and traps left to do and dark elixer drill upgrades and pump and mines to upgrade still. I still need to do one upgrade on rage spells and one more upgrade on minions. I still need to upgrade golems and valks and hogs and goblins.

Well with that out of the way, time to start making entry's!
Also feel free to leave comments and give feedback. I would prefer if at least some of the people who are following this and will be checking in from time to time to reply and let me know so I know I'm not doing this for nothing. Thanks!

Entry Number 1: I know it's only been one hour since it started this but I thought I would post my first entry and the things I did today. So today I got 30k dark elixer which is enough to upgrade to level 3 hogs! Started the upgrade in lab so that's 9 days I think. I also farmed a few skull walls so I have made some progress. Before I got to 30k dark elixer, when I was at 28k I failed 2 attacks in row because I got greedy trying to go for all 2k dark elixer at once. I was able to start upgrading one of my dark elixer drills to level 3. I was debating between that or upgrading my dark spell factory but I decided to do the dark elixer drill for now since that's important.

Well that's it for entry 1 guys! Hope everyone enjoyed!

Side Notes: I plan on doing at least 1 entry per day so stay tuned! Sometimes during wars I can't farm much but I normally get 1 skull wall at least done during battle day and prep day. I can farm quite a bit during prep day so progress will still be made. During war days and more specificity battle day I will post recaps of my attacks and the clan score and who won just so theirs more content then me saying " I got 1 skull wall done today" and having that be the whole entry. Next entry is tomorrow, most likely tomorrow night

Good luck man. Im like 88% done with my th8. All my defenses are done. Almost done with my walls and I have 4 or 5 more troops to research.

Just a recommendation. make sure you keep a tesla upgrading all the time and try to keep your elixer upgrades (besides DE drills) for later do you're not just sitting on full elixer storages.

Hi guys. So for today's entry I upgraded 4 skull walls. Sorry but upgrade wise that's all I did since I just spent all my dark elixer and elixer on upgrades last night. Still got tons more work to do on walls. I know when other town hall 8's call farming skull walls brutal that other high lvl players say it's easy. I think it is kind of brutal not in the cost of each one but having to farm 500k over 100 times is the kind of brutal part. I'm planning on upgrading a dark elixer drill next for elixer upgrades. For gold upgrades I will continue on walls for a bit. Next dark elixer upgrade might be hogs but that will be a while from now.

Clan War Update:My Clan is currently in war prep but I'm not in it due to farming. I will be in next war so I can do the clan war attacks recap. They will only be my attacks though and the final score.


New: Attack/Defense Log Info: This is a new thing I thought of adding to my entry's. I hope to make this better in the coming days. This is a smaller version of what I hope can be better and more descriptive. I'm using a farming base so only town hall snipes on me for defence. I will change my base soon so this part is more then me just saying my town hall got sniped a few times. As for attacks i have had some good ones. I will give more info during this section of my entry in the next one. I use GiBarch in gold 3 with 10 minions combined with Gibarch.

Since you seem an active player how much time do you think it takes to max out TH8 (starting from a max TH7)

Thanks for commenting on this thread. And to answer your question I geuss a few months maybe depending on how active you are and how many builders you have. I have not kept track so I can't give you exact time frames.

Have fun maxing th8...gets quite dull at the end, especially with teslas...i just finished maxing my base 5 days ago...5 days left till th9

Well I would think that the end of maxing every town hall could get a bit dull. Except for town hall 10 I guess since that's a major accomplishment in the game. I'm not a super hardcore farmer so maxing is the best thing for me.

I didn't bother with max tesla or level 8 walls got too boring and I wanted max loons and a queen

Hey Everyone! I'm back with another daily entry. Today was a quiet day for farming for me. Didn't do to much but their will be more stuff done in a few days and guys please be patient on waiting for lots of things to get done. Today I upgraded 3 skull walls. I know it's not a big deal but it puts me closer to max town hall 8. My elixir is being built up again so expect me to announce that I started a elixir upgrade in the coming days.

Clan War Update: My clans current war is still going on. I'm not in it. I will let one more clan war pass and then I will be in one.


Attack/Defence Log Info: Well for defense I was town hall sniped a few times since I have a farming base. Attack wise I only did one attack today sadly. I still made decent progress doing the 3 walls. I'm normally more active then that so don't expect that all the time. For the one I did I got 128,985 gold and 32,056 elixir and 97 dark elixir. I used 54 archers and 50 barbarians and 12 giants and 7 wall breakers and 11 minions and my barb king and a heal spell. Pretty good raid gold wise. I'm mainly targeting gold.
