Of course, and this is the point of the formula. Hitting low bases gives lots of stars but not much loot. The good war attackers we are looking for have spent a good amount of time hitting strong bases with general success. This means high war stars and high loot. The formula just adds specificity to answer the question, "How high do stars & loot need to be in order to prove ones ability?" Thanks for the thoughts, I'd like to get as much input as possible.

Thanks for the compliment, we are trying our best! We have just recently gotten to the point where we can afford to be picky with new recruits, and I was hoping to find a way to do so. Best of luck on your TH 9.5, I know it took a long while to get there!

You could just plot your top players and quickly work out an average ratio. :thumbsup:

I did so, and they all fit right in with the formula I came up with. (War stars * 200,000 = War loot) seems to separate the decent players from the elite players. All elite players I have put into this formula have worked so far.

With that in mind, we are a 3 Starring TH9 clan. The formula is based off of our members, and may not work for a 3 Starring TH10 clan or a more casual clan at that.

It's very hard to draw any conclusion from the ratio Star vs Loot

Let say you have a guy that in a clan that war once a week

He 3 star all of them and goes after 500 000 loots village

After 5 weeks (10 attacks) he accumulated 30 star and 5 000 000 loots

Now you have 2nd other guy that much less talented but he war 3 times a week He only get 1 star for each of them and target 200 000 loots village after 5 weeks (30 attacks) he accumulate 30 stars and 6 000 000 loots

Now hey the weak guy look better than the stronger guy

Let say a 3rd guy has the same stat as the first war once a week 3 star but goes for 600 000 loot village he will have 30 star and 6 000 000 loots.

So you see impossible to distinguish the 2nd and the 3rd impossible to tell if the higher ratio is because he is stronger or weaker than guy 1. Ratio is can be very misleading.

The problem is 1 star 500 000 loot has a higher ratio Loot:Star than 3 star 500 000 loots So the higher ratio might indicate less star per attack so less skilled player

But 3 stars 500 000 loot also has a higher Loot:Stars radio than 3 stars 200 000 loots. So higher ratio also indicate he able to take stronger opponent so more skilled player

So you have to contradictory effect. Higher ratio might indicate he able to take stronger village but also might indicate he only get low level of star per villages impossible to distinguish between them

Someone who wars once a week will not be able to 3 star max TH9 meta bases and would not be welcome in our clan, so that is not too relevant. The cases you mentioned are extremely rare. We are only using competitive TH9 war attackers as a basis for the formula. If they do not war regularly or are casual, they will not work with the formula. I think our mindsets are a bit different here.

Here what I add to my reply above

The problem is higher Loot:Stars ratio may mean more skilled player getting bigger village or less skill player getting less stars per village.

So if 2 guys present themselves one with a higher ratio does it mean he go for bigger village or he got less star per village. Impossible to know which make it very hard to judge by ratio

I did try to figured out the optimal ratio before but those two contradictory fact mess up thing.

Currently, i have 633 war stars. My War Loot, though, is low for some reason, 53mil. Though i know I've always taken targets suitable to my TH Level and Troop Levels, generally +-2 of my number. And i know I've never hit low.

Maybe it's the fact that I've been warring since th5, and hence the bases I've attacked had low loot. Maybe its also the fact that i spent a long period of time in a local clan where, though the members were great, having a ten-war losing streak was common. I don't know. I just don't think that you can predict the skills of a person just from their War Stars or War Loot.

We have a member in our clan similar to you who amassed war stars at a low level. You hit lots of easy bases from TH5-TH8 so you got lots of stars but not much loot. Hope that helps explain your stats.

and that's why there are farming clans made solely for the purpose of getting war loot
