War Stars vs. War Loot

I am a leader in a sizeable war clan and we are working on recruiting alongside our requirements for acceptance into the clan. In trying to figure things out, a question has come up regarding the correlation between war stars and war loot.

For instance, I have 404 war stars and a bit over 70 million gold in war loot. Is there a known correlation that can help us tell which applicants are good in war?

We know about where war loot should be in relation to war stars:
[War loot > (War stars * 200,000) is a good rule to go by]
That would mean my war loot should be a bit over 80 million gold and I am right under that number.

Specifically, though, is there a "magic ratio" of War stars:War loot that exists to help determine if someone is a good war attacker?

I think it's risky to try draw conclusions from that.

You may miss out on recruiting someone who is a highly skilled war attacker, but was extremely loyal to a clan for a long period of time who didn't win many wars as enough the other players weren't skilled enough. Giving them a high star / low loot ratio.

Alternatively, a highly skilled attacker may have been spending a lot of time in farm war clans while power leveling heroes up. Giving them a low star / high loot ratio.

Is hard to say, if someone has a lot of stars that is great, but what if he got all those stars when in a clan that was unable to win? He may have gotten 6 stars every war but only gotten 1/4 of the loot he should have. You should look at the stars as a good sign that they have warred a lot. Then take them and judge by what they do in the war. Numbers are always able to lie. Actual fact can't be faked as easy.

We find it easier to focus on troops and buildings than war/farming stats.

I never looked this up but is war stars just new stars earned? If so clean up people don't really gain that many stars per war.

FYI my main has 495 war stars are 79mil war loot.

We don't even look at applicants who don't have max buildings and troops, so war stars are a huge part of what sways the decision to accept or reject.

I think that's a great point that I hadn't thought of. However, we've never experienced someone like that. I think anyone who 6 stars every war would want to be in an elite war clan that wins most wars. Our best players all line up with the formula I mentioned. With the exception of the types of players you mentioned, I'm not sure the math is prone to look poorly upon decent players for the most part. Thanks for the input!

Our issue is not wanting to accept anyone into the clan if there is any question that the player might be a weak link in war. The amount of war stars alone does not matter whatsoever. It is the correlation of war stars to war loot that will tell you several things.

ex) Did the player spend a long time hitting low level, no skill bases? (Lots of stars, not much loot)

The formula was just a thought I was considering, and I wanted some opinions from others. Thank you!

Aside from what has been said above, you also have to factor in that some people may have earnt the majority of their stars warring at lower TH levels which give lower loot bonus assuming they hit their own TH level. Added to this, being good at wars at lower TH levels does not automatically mean they will be good in higher TH levels.

I see. I guess that's why you are looking for these stats. We had some 500+ war star players join our clan but not really deliver. Sometimes these stars are earned early on as a lower th. I guess that's where the war loot comes into play. If your clan is big enough and stable enough, you can afford to be picky with new recruits so you might as well pick the best.

By only accepting max players, you might draw the big clans and the skill gap between the clans might not be even. We prefer to get in a th8 or newish th9 then skill them up to where we need them. No method is better but maybe something for your clan to consider.

BTW: Noble Nines is a great clan :). Kudos to you all.

I don't really know what to think of it at this point. For people in the clan like Goku and LMF it is well over the ratio you have thought of, but then both Peter and Zok are nearly 20,000,000 under the ratio. We will have to experiment with it some more.
