Traps and CC troops are invisible to all new clan members for 48 hours or war end

By making traps and CC troops invisible on the war map, as well as player villages for 48 hours or until war ends, my clan would be able to accept new members during wartime, without worrying we will be spied on. Our numbers decreased after a leadership change, and we've been struggling to get good players to add to our core. We accepted invites during two wars to keep access open, but the second war, we got spied on, so we don't do that anymore. We war twice a week which means players who want to join are only able to submit requests less than half the time.

Some possible issues with this idea are that it might be difficult to implement without causing problems for players who are in a war, need to leave, but come back to participate... or if it would simply be too big a change in the code to be worth it.

One alternative to this suggestion might be for us to accept players we want, and if we're at war, quickly kick them, with a message explaining why, and that they will be invited back in x hours.

However, spying is a big problem and as someone who knows very well how the game works on the surface, but less about its coding, I personally can't think of a reason not to have a game-imposed probationary period like this suggestion implemented, to assist with security and the clan-clasher matching process.

All thoughts on the issues of wartime recruitment and security are welcome for discussion here.

I saw this being suggested few times, and the one I liked most of the previous versions of this idea was that all the members with the title New wouldn't be able to see the traps in the clan. When a new member joins the clan, he gets ranked as Member but has a New near that.. well I think that New should hide these traps.

So simple. This is all that's needed.

I think this would be pointless. It's really simple to see if a new member request is the same name as another person in the other war... If they aren't in the clan that's at war, then they won't have an exp rank by their name in the war log. This could hurt clans that have members that jump from clan to clan (sister clans or over to a Req n Leave clan). One should always be looking at how to tweak their war base and that is often done by moving traps around. Limiting your team from being able to give you feedback isn't a good idea there.

Moral of the story: do your easy research before accepting members; don't leave your clan "Open" :)

PERFECT EXAMPLE--- just happened. We got a new clan Req, so I just went to the war screen, clicked the blue star, enemy team tab... This guy (#4) was the one requesting to be in our clan. Just hit REJECTED!!!!!

Simple. You managed your clan and didn't ask supercell to do it for you. Too bad the other 4000 people asking for this can't do the same. :thumbsup:

Aside from change in general, is there an actual reason Supecell should not implement something like this?

Not implying anything (this isn't a half-bad idea), but SC might have better things to work on, like quests or the no troop selected while nexting feature. Further, this is an resolution to a problem created by neglect, and if you do get spied on, it isn't difficult to switch bases.

Someone who is being paid would have to implement and test this, which takes time, vs clan leaders doing a better job of managing their clan, which takes no time or resources from SuperCell.

tell me more about how i can better manage my clan in order to prevent being spied on. alts are a thing.

there is no safe way to accept any join request during war, and that poses a serious recruiting problem

I don't like it. In my opinion, spying is currently part of war. I know this isn't the best example, but has there ever been a war in real life that didn't involve spying? Spying involves more strategy on both sides. Use it to your advantage.

Slightly tedious but doable, yes. However, you only have to be a little bit clever to spy on the enemy using an account that is not currently in the was line up.

You are assuming a mature clan more or less happy with the size of its membership.

You are ignoring smaller clans that want to both war and to grow.

I am not concerned at all about spying because we close our clan during war.

If there was a way we could war with no concern of spying and keep the clan open that would be nice though. When you do a lot of wars that gives limited opportunity to recruit new blood.

Some times people in that clan that aren't in the war can spy. Spying has never been a problem for me, once some guy joined our clan for a day and then told us we suck and joined the other clan, but it didn't look like he actually spied

its the leader or co's responsibility to close the clan before a war and ensure that spy's don't infiltrate....however i think everyone should try to get in a spy its become a fun cat n mouse part of the game deal with it or have a disadvantage in war up to you....:cool:

We get spies all the time. We always beat the spy enemy team, but still. Would be a nice change.

And what if you didn't want to have to close your clan. What if you wanted to war a few times per week AND increase membership?

Then spy yourself...

Spying adds management skill, strategy, and all round more interest to the game. You don't like spies getting in your clan, but can't stop it because you're recruiting? Either don't war or spy yourself and make the playing field equal! Problem solved.
