Th9 ridiculously better then th8 (mainly war speaking)

So i have been a th9 for 2 weeks so all i have done offense wise is

army camps
spell factory
clan castle
Archer queen lvl6

But attacking has gone from a struggle to a breeze!

As a maxed th8 gowiping a maxed th8, everything would have to be placed perfect, if i done any error or if there base was done well then it would be a cruddy 2 stars

To attack a th9 would be unthinkable really as i only go for the 3 stars and you wouldnt have much of a chance if they have all the extra defenses built and xbows

BUT as a th9 with the only additions as said above if i take on a maxed th8 its like cutting a melon with a sword!
With being able to have a maxed golem now, using a jump spell to get in the centre, archer queen kicking but behind its just easy!

Iv just taken on a mid th9, with lvl2 xbows, lvl7 mortars and all new defenses up to th8 scratch and it was a little hit and miss but i got the 3 stars!

Im just basically saying this because as a th8 i felt like i had enough with the game, not being able to 3 star my opposite, but now i can go higher and get the 3 star without any troop upgrades as yet!

If your a th8 wondering whats the point, just wait cause you will be kicking butt soon!

Right now you are in the honeymoon stage. 3 starring a TH9 as a TH9 takes some hard to learn strategies, especially when you move towards being maxed. The worst is when you get pitted against a TH10. Even level 1 multi-targetted infernos make it almost impossible to 2 star.

I've seen a TH9 with level 2 pekkas and level 1 golems 2-star one with 2 max multis

The inferno has little effect on getting 2 star - raged pekkas/heroes/valks will kill the TH long before a multi-target inferno has any effect on them.
The inferno does make it hard to 3* - even a moderately rushed TH10 with multi-inferno is difficult to 3* as a TH9.


@OP - TH9 is the fun one for war. You'll probably find soon that gowipe doesn't get 3* on most decent bases... and you'll need to use more complex combinations of troops. TH9 has the most variety of troops and strategies from what I've seen

Someday if you come across a TH10 because you have lavas and legos on your walls.

I have to say, from experience, going to TH9 w/out learning golem based attacks was definitely harder for war. No more mass hog raids. AQ will wreck your hogs in no time.

Technically speaking OP th9 over th8 isn't too far from th8 to th7.

While th9 might get the Archer queen while th8 doesn't, th7 doesn't get the pekka, golem, any dark spells, Valkyries and more defense levels.

So yeah complaining that th9 is overpowered is really nothing compared to the argument that th8 is overpowered.

Third ad is huge on th 8, with 2 ads there is no way to stop even lvl 2 dragons and lightning.

My experience a middling 7 can destroy any 7. A good th 8 can 3 star a max th 8 some of the time, little less than max most of the time. A amazing th 9 can 3 star a good th 9 some of the time. A good th 10 can 2 star a th 10 most of the time, don't see a lot of 3 stars. That you can 3 star the level below you is kind of assumed except maybe 10s on really good 9s.

I rushed th8 which was my biggest mistake in the game, i fixed it at th8 by maxing it (besides walls only 75% skulls and didnt do troops i dont use)

So th8 became really boring as i was there for ages, but th9 is great, i dont think il be in any rush to get to th10, seems to be ALOT of war pressure at th10 also

I didnt max th 8 but was 75% done my skulls and upgarded have now finished legos and working o lavas h 9 is a godd period but th 10 is hard so im sticking to th 9 till max lab got about 160 days to go left in there

If you're highly skilled and perfected your attack strategy, maybe.

But it shouldn't be easy. I'm actually just now getting better with my GoWiXX attacks and am finally, convincingly 3 starring TH9s, as a TH9. A TH8 shouldn't have the power to do the same.

So it's better because you thought GOWIPE was your best bet at three stars? The problem is you, not that TH9>TH8 for getting three stars. I three star fellow TH8s all the time with dragons, hogs, or GOVALO (and never GOWIPE because it sucks)

Dude, you have zero experience with ANYTHING TH8. How can you feel like its boring to max? I'm almost a max offense TH8 just working on walls defensively (maxed there), and am loving the diversity of attacks I get to do at the top of the TH8 food chain against other TH8s every war.

Maybe if you are concerned with stars.

I am enjoying my th10. I smash puny th9 and weak th10 on raids alot.

Th9 was a blast, waayyy better than th7/8 was. For war you finally start to get strategy involved. Not just where to drop your dragons lol. But sounds like you gowipe?? That's a two star strategy and if you get three, the base sucked. Loon, hogs are what I use most. Early th9s are easy as a th9, max th9s are a different story all together.

Oh and you don't get maxed golems at th9, that's at th10.

The biggest problem I see in war is the dreaded max TH8 spot. For some reason, maxish TH8s are having a very hard time 3 starring each other now. I think the worst spot in the game is max TH8 right now. You are expected to 3 star and with the current changes, it's been tough for them. As a max TH8, I agree. Once I finish some lab upgrades, I'm moving to TH8.5.

Generally, we have our nines take out their top TH8s I can't figure out, but I still believe every TH8 is weak to either GOVALO, hogs, or dragons. The bigger issue is that most 8s rush to 9 without ever learning any attacks other than max dragons. We've had a lot of war success recently by having 8s that understand the base types that 8s struggle attacking and diversifying our attacks past mass dragons. In wars where our 8s range from spots 5-17 or so, we've had them unable to figure out 8s as low as 14 because of solid, dragonproof war spheres and the people with the ground troops to 3 star it preferring to two star our higher 8s than drop down to 3 the one they can actually 3 (generally, they're only capable of mindless, two star GOWIPEs)

Get used to it. It's a matter of the big fish in the pond. Th10 is way better then th9, max Herod, infernos, etc. Th9 r better then 8, xbows and aq. Th8 r better then th7, golems, pekka, 3rd ad, etc. Get over, and stop complaining. It's a GAME. keyword:game. I do admit the gap between th8 and 9is a bit drastic, but who cares? U will get there one day and have the same problem with th10. Inall honesty, attacking is wayy better then defending. Even th10s get wrecked form other th10, and some skilled th9

Good call. We are seeing very few max TH8's three starred by TH8's these days. Our 8.5's are having to hit the top few enemy TH8 and the enemy TH9's are having to hit several of our TH8's as well, to clear them for 3*.

Dragons do NOT work, period. You get three lvl6 AD in a good design and even just lvl9 archer towers, and the dragons die. Get some lvl10 archer towers, lvl4 sweeper, good design, to go with those AD, and the dragons just aren't going to do anything but get 2* (when funneled well) and scout tesla locations + CC contents.

Hogs are the way go to and a max TH8 hog attack can certainly three star a max TH8, but on a well designed base it's difficult. Several of our long-time TH8 swear that their hogs die more quickly now than they used to, and that's not even accounting for so many enemy bases being well designed in terms of interior double giant bombs that you have to find the old fashion way to know where they are.

This last war I got 5 stars on th 10's. Both had infernos.

Yeah? I've three starred TH10's when I was a TH8. With fernos!

As we know bases that have the same lvl TH are often not created equally.

Did you know that 7's are ridiculously better than 6's in war?

10's are also ridiculously better than 9's.

Glad I'm not the only way to notice this, most of our hog raids have been failing miserably recently.. Just as soon as I get all the 8s on my clan upgrading to level 4 hogs :facepalm: Except in very specific cases I've stopped hogging at upper TH8

I have learned - the hard way - that upgrading to th9 from max th8 could be a real pain...i have my 4 builder busy making xbows + up lab + lix spells...and i get raided pretty bad 2xx-3xx per resource, not finding yet a sweet spot to stay while the first upgrades are completed ( 1400-1600 im a sitting duck at this time...th8 base with th9 loot...the worst ever)

Besides that, i have to say that the real gain in th9 is, definetly, the AQ...she vastly improves the raids and war performance. My point is that there are limitations but once you have entered th9 good...all worth it. So stop complaining, the differences between th's its part of the logic of the game.

Archer queen is a big bonus but you don' t get much to ground attacks. On the other hand air attacks become a real factor at th 9 so it's kinda balanced.

I completely forgot that. I will hold to gowipe-gowiva- gowiwi in the first month in th9 and then i will focus on loon strategies, and more, there's a lot of strategies to choose in th9.
