It's even worse now with the AI update causing all troops to pause for a half second every time a nearby building or unit is killed.
Not at all, I have lost full groups of wiz at times do to this. If the troop or building they are attacking gets killed, is like 5 seconds before their minds are clear enough again to attack. Very frustrating
Are you talking about the pause before they fire?
That's not a glitch that's in there on purpose. Like the Pekka or Valk wind up time
Ya it's frustrating.... I've seen one of my wiz literally not get a shot off during a cc kill lol.just kept winding up.
The wizard is a favorite troop of mine, and I would also like to see this issue addressed.
He's talking about when your Wz target a troops/building, he about to shoot the fire, but the target is destroy, so he pause for a second to recalculate, and took more time to make a second fire to a different target. Sometime it's really annoying, especially when you trying to kill CC troops. You drop 2 wz, and it suppose to take all the group of CC troops that stand together. But both wz target 1 troop, which is kills before that wz can make the shot. So both wz pause in the air for 1 second, then recalculate, then shoot another target. By that time, the CC troops might already kill them. Recalculate target is ok. balloon, giants, hogs, etc do it a lot. However, in the case of Wz, there is a pause for a moment, as if he's trying to finish the first shoot.
It's been there forever.
It's not a glitch. They are working as they are intended to work. If something dies while they are preparing to shoot them they move on to the next target. It's the same as any spell casting unit in any game you just can't see the spell casting windup bar.
It's a glitch. I have watched my wizards sit there and wind up...then not shoot...when aiming towards buildings and walls (no troops), and not a single thing dies while they are winding up and not shooting. They just ♥♥♥♥ the air for no reason sometimes.
And then there's the problem getting them to target enemy troops and heroes. I'll get like 5 wizards converging on the TH at the end of a TH8 hog attack and the wiz will shoot past the defending BK to attack the TH...and not switch to targeting the BK as he systematically kills them one by one...even though the BK was closer to them than the TH when they started.
Or an enemy CC drag will be killing my barch and other wiz out on the edge after a lure, and when I drop more wiz they run underneath the dragon...as it is frying the wiz's friends...and start attacking a barracks...until the drag turns around and fries him too.
Wizards are just plain dumb. They are the new WB/AQ
Most annoying thing for me as well. Even when it is time to kill the CC in the beginning of the raid, the wizards sit there, shoot nothing but show the movement of shooting (no buildings are even around so they should immediately target the CC troops, and so you can't really say they were targetting something and then change) then target the CC troops.
I have lost so many wizards to them doing this "thing" while at the same time, golem taking heavy fire from the opposing Valkaryres which could of easily been solved if the wizards actually shot instead of sitting there doing movements but not dishing out damage.
Yup. I still haven't been able to truly fix the problem, even with the CC dragon kill where I have the most direct control, all I do now is drop my BK to distract the dragon and then drop the wizards behind them all as the drag shoots the BK, and that seems to do it...but then I am lucky if the BK survives long enough for hogs to get into the base and I certainly can't use the BK to go after the defensive BK regardless of how exposed he might be.
The last couple wars I've started bringing almost all valks for my kill squad (goho and golaloon), with only 4-6 wizards just to create a funnel...if there's a dragon or hound in the CC the AQ will just have to take it down.
Would be nice if they didn't misfire, as particularly with cc troops even the shot at a target that's no longer there would be useful in splash.
If they targeted much faster though, would probably be powerful enough for an impending nerf.
