Like if an archer is killed while one of its arrows is in flight, that arrow disappears and does no damage, because the archer was killed before the arrow could reach the target. I would assume that the same algorithm applies to the golemite scenario you gave. Since the golemite was killed first, the damage burst would not affect the tesla, since the level automatically ends the instant the last troop has been killed.
Perhaps someone who has experienced this firsthand can chime in.
Of course, it could also be like dividing by zero. The whole universe might explode!
