What is the best War strategy for a th8? What troop combo is best for three staring?

For me, hogs are the more powerful strategy, however they can be wiped very quickly if the base has double GBs. If this is the case, dragons are a very suitable replacement. I would rank hogs as the most powerful with dragons a close second. Generally some form of hogs or dragons can wipe any th8 base

I would rate them as

1 Hogs

2 Dragons

3 Gowipe

A generalized list, really depends on base

I use to think dragons were but after the new AS came out, things changed a lot. My clan has resorted to hogs and Gowipe a lot. Gowipe works best when all your Gowipe troops are maxed ... Level 3 pekkas, level 10 Bk etcetc.

anyways it really depends on the base!

GoHog is still the best attack strategy at TH8, use 2 Golems, 15 or so wizzy and wb along with a max pekka in your cc, rest is hogs. Spell-wise use 1 posion (for cc), 2 heal and 1 rage.. Hope this helps! :thumbsup:

Hog variations (mass Hogs, GoHo, etc.) Hogs are the most reliable 3 star attack strategy at TH8, Dragons are unreliable, and GoWiPe is only reliable if you're aiming for 2 stars. So Hogs are the best, get them to lvl.4 asap. And the troop combo, a thing you want to learn in clan wars is that there is no exact troop combination that you have to use. Customize your army to every base, maybe one base you need a Giant to lure, another base you might need a Loon or two, sometimes you might need 6 wallbreakers instead of 8. This is generally my troop comp for GoHo:

2 Golems
8-10 Wizards
6-8 Wallbreakers
14-16 Hogs
Lure troop (Giants, 2 Loons, Hogs, etc)
Pulling/anchor troops (mainly Barch)
