Why would a TH10 farmer stay in Crystal leagues? Come down below!

I keep reading on the forums about how good loot is in the Crystal leagues. So I though why not try it myself as I have a decent base now - lvl 2 infernos, lvl 9 walls and max TH9 defences.

I tried farming in Crystal 3 and 2 because of the league bonus and because collector raids are pretty much non-existent for me in gold and silver anyway. I found that Collector raids are pretty rare there too. After 6 hours of actual playing, I gained 1 million gold and ZERO elixir. Why? Because wannabe heroes came with war armies with lvl 20+ heroes, took half my loot ie 200k/200k, and then I spent another 150k rearming traps etc. That is a pretty low profit for war armies with 5 spells, and all for 1 star? Add to that tons and tons of nexting to find a target - how do you not go mad with so much nexting? My conclusion - Crystal league is not the proper place for people who log off frequently, or don't want to next too much. Too many people who can't do calculations, or don't care for loot :thumbsdown:

Back in Silver/Gold - attacking every 30-60 minutes, raiding 400k-600k gold+elixir and 2000+ DE every attack using gibarch. I am logging off after every attack with nothing but snipes even though I am offering max of every resource. Still no collector raids, but steady progress. And completely peaceful life. What is not to like life at lower leagues? :thumbsup:

The biggest lie though was that there was more DE in Crystal league. That may have been true before the matchmaking update, but it is simply not true now. You will find many more full DE storages down in Gold/Silver than up there, and the occasional full collectors. Try it if you haven't try it before. If you are using superfast armies like BAM then Crystal might be better because with so many attacks, the league bonus will add up fast, but otherwise gaining DE will be easier down below.

Summary - I strongly feel that Gold or Silver leagues are much better for a TH10 farmer than the Crystal leagues. Even for DE. (Summary because I typed too much!)

Kinda funny how pre update saying that would have been silly in the extreme. If you came down that low you begged to be zapped.
Now post update everyone is saying to "hide" in silver for easy loot. Odd how one update can change things so very much. Seems now with the new update everyone is flocking into the lower leagues where they claim to get good de, but a low bonus and seemingly very little resistance when it comes to being attacked. I have spent most of my gaming career in gold, but still why hide in a low league when the bonus will allow for a a good extra to your attack when you get a win. Especially for a th 10 that should obviously have little trouble winning attacks.

The only loot I have ever found was DE from TH8s in Crystal 2. Crystal 3 is pretty nice, at least 2K-2.1K. Crystal 1 has decent DE, I don't think you come across good gold/lix till master and thats when the big DE starts to come in as wlel.

Winning attacks isn't a problem. I almost always have one lvl 20 hero available with me. The problem is finding bases with fat loot. They seem pretty rare in Crystal, whereas Silver and Gold is full of them if you can raid storages. The win bonus doesn't make up for it - the gold is gone by the extra nexting, and there is simply more elixir down below. Much more.

As for hiding - well, is there any incentive to not hide? I mean - why would you want lose 300-400k in an attack plus another 150k in trap re-arming etc? That is why we keep TH outisde - to get free shields.

I agree with the zaps part - it was the one thing that stopped me from dropping down to Silver earlier. I lost as much as 3500 DE in one sitting due to zappers who wouldn't even give me a shield. Good riddance to zapping :thumbsdown:

Yes, Master and above definitely seems to have a lot of DE, just by looking at replays. BTW, what league are you farming in these days?

I might go to Master league once I upgrade my infernos to lvl 3, and I am holding off on doing that because I want to have max freeze by that time.

I haven't gone below Crystal since I turned TH9.

I farm 2 blue walls a day in c2 and never have both heroes because one is always ug. king going to 29 later since my de is full again. Just barch a few bases, leave th out, break your shield once youve been sniped and log back in. No real attacks on me in months only get sniped a dozen or so times a day. If you are getting full attacked I'll guess your a rusher with weak walls.

I specifically mentioned in my opening post - I have max TH9 defences, lvl 9 walls and lvl 2 infernos. Definitely not a rusher by any means. I have no idea why I was attacked so much in C3-C2 because my base is not profitable to attack.

I haven't said that loot is bad in Crystal. Some of my clanmates (also doing blue walls) have been in Crystal since TH9. I am just saying that it is much better in Silver/Gold. Are you in Crystal for the prestige or because you think loot is better there?

For TH10, you experience a serious loot penalty attacking lower THs. It's actually pretty hard to be profitable in lower leagues.

That is why TH10s do best when they move up to masters and champs--because at those levels, loot doesn't matter so much because high league bonuses make things even out. If you want an indication of how fast the loot can be, I'm in champs 2 farming my lava walls and have only 27 legos left. I've only been at this give or take 3-4 months. My army of choice is barch, I don't worry about storages too much, but I'll take them if someone is dumb enough to leave them exposed.

I've been raking it all over crystal...I'm glad to hear loot is good again in silver, but it just can't be as insanely good as it was pre update. The only thing zapping was ever good for was keeping the fraidy cats out...I happily traded DE for massive gold and elixir gains. Anyway, at this point I simply earn more DE up higher, I attack a lot and that bonus adds up, and my zaps are moving right along
