Also, one other thought on my sliding system, that I'd like to see implemented for more competitive wars and I'm interested to hear what you guys think:
100% bonus if your TH level=.5 points
100% bonus if attacking TH>defending TH=.25 points
This will make an 8 hitting the top 8s and top 9s hitting the top 9s much more valuable (and based on skill), than dropping down for easier attacks.
And yeah, my clan takes full advantage of the system it is now, but I'd rather have incentive to three star their top 8 than just have one of my 9s do it.
A continuous algorithm is always the right answer. The issues these TH10s are having is that my discrete 4 star system also has problems. I have said in previous posts that discrete methods will always have problems and disputes at where to draw that line. A continuous structure where every percentage point matters (weighted differently as you get higher into percentages) and a TH bonus is easily the fairest and most reasonable solution. My 4 star system; albeit better, still has issues because it is still discrete.
The main pro is that it indisputably awards B players greater than C players. I have yet to hear a substantiated con to this idea, just mere speculative rants of people afraid of changing from a bad system to a better one.

You have the correct idea, we don't want to water down an attack. 100% is still more stars than any other attack. As of right now, 2 star attacks are watered down. Noobs can achieve 50% 2 star out of dumb luck or by doing 1 and only 1 thing correctly. THAT is what is watered down.

This would be a great idea. Lost of draws would have been won by us.
I think other ideas or at least parts of it are good too, hope they add something in the future.
Another small tidbit.. After watching another attack shred a base but only had enough room for archers for three of the builders hut and the remaining pack of valks stayed together to overkill one shot every building in their path but none went to that last stupid builder hut for another 99%.. Which is especially insulting given that I might as well have done a lazy GOWIPE for the two stars rather than coming up with a GOVALO that shredded the base (I lost maybe 2 of 10 valks).. If it's going to be this much of a reward for 100%, couldn't they at least throw you a bone and make troops intelligently clean up rather than stay in a pack? They barely would have had to go any further to path to the missing hut! Oh well.
And once again, I know this works both ways. If an opponent breaks all the way through my base, he deserves the three star even if a change meant his troops now hit the corner buildings.
I would enjoy seeing a 5 star war. Star for every 25% destruction, final star for taking the town hall.
Then I could call myself a 5 star general when I get 100%. 3 star general just doesn't have the same punching power.
