honestly i would try if the golden trout yields me like 100 fish fillets or something. its ridiculous that no matter the weight of fish, the no. of fillet is still 1 per fish. doesn't make sense!

I caught 1 by the water fall on a gold lure it was 2.205 pounds.
Do we have confirmed that it is the smallest circle spot, and not just a "small" one, meaning potentially the medium one? For people who don't pay too much attention to it, medium and small circle spots can easily be confused with each other, and they both look pretty "small" compared to the regular (large) one.Quote:

Yes, it was caught in the waterfall area on a gold lure, in the smallest of inner circles, but what I have been noticing lately is the SPEED at which the fish go for the lure... The Golden trout really attacked it, and not just dawdled up to it like some do, especially if the lure is not too close... I noticed this yesterday, and took more notice today, so it may be a help...?? As ever, it's only an observation, but it paid off for me today... Good luck.

Here is a picture of my golden trout. Got that soon after fishing started, I did not know there were anything special about though. Just a fish among others. But this is fun, still four to catch; Bittering, Brook trout, Rainbow smelt and Specledace. Thank you for revealing the possible spots.
Firstly, cannot see your pic...?? The Golden trout has always been the most difficult one to catch, hence this 'special' thread... As you can see, there has been only one gold awarded catch so far... Only one person so far, as well, has caught all 30 fish...!!! NOBODY that I know of has caught all 30 with the gold award...!!! There are a few close to that massive achievement, but not yet...Quote:

Lol - Welcome to the Golden trout club... Just missed out on a top twenty spot unfortunately, so your next one will have to get you into the very top league..??? Some of the other fish weights are now approaching 5 lbs, so who knows what the highest golden trout is gonna weigh...??? What would be good though, was if people maybe give a little description of how they felt when they eventually land one of these little beauties... Yes, I have only 3 left. It is of course the gold medal for Golden Trout and the gold medals for Biterling and Specked Dace. I have cought so many Biterling that I have lost count and still no gold medal. Just now I hope I get more purple lure from next boat. I usually get purple lures every now and then.
