Feeder Clans. Worth it or waste?

Just want to see what everyone's thoughts on feeder clans are.

I personally do not like feeder for a few reasons.

We currently sit at a comfortable 47/50 members in our clan and have been like that for a while. We do not recruit but most of the people that want to join us do not have the qualifications to be in our clan. Most are th7 and below while we are recruiting th9 non rushed. If we try to recruit we still get the same group of people sitting at th7 and below.
In the rare instance a higher level comes around and usually its someone who expects activity 24/7 which is impossible with a clan that has families, jobs, and school to worry about before CoC.

If we were to make a feeder clan (which many outsiders have told us to do for some reason) its going to be people who weren't qualified to make it into our main clan in the first place. By the time they reach the qualifications the bar has been raised. They will never be able to make it to the point of the rest of the clan unless they "No-Life" it to reach the bar which is constantly being raised.

Maybe its just our clan that does not like feeders because recruiting is not in our best interest. Most of us have been playing since the start of Clash and well have grown to like each others company so there is no need to recruit more. We are fine with our group and looks like it will stay that way. We have also had a bad experience with feeders in our old clan where they become inactive and communication with them is a bit difficult unless a "Mini account" is there.

So what are all of your thoughts? Any bad experiences with feeders? Am I alone on this island where I dislike Feeders.

I believe the premise of the feeder clan is so you can build for the future so to speak. You say that you rarely recruit or get a solid th9 or th10 to stick around much because their expectations are different than yours. Meanwhile you're turning away 7s and under that want to join because they don't "meet your qualifications". Sure you could say the bar is constantly raising and it would be hard for a 7 and below to get up to that juggernaut th10 level but maybe with some coaching and help you could help get them there quicker. If you can get people with lower bases to join your "feeder" clan then you can groom them and then if someone from your main clan decides to quit or take a vacation you can move people from the feeder clan in. Even if no one really moves from the "feeder" to the "main" the people in the feeder will still be improving their bases and could be an asset to your clan down the road. Everyone's gotta start somewhere we weren't all born with TH9s and TH10s. Just my two cents. Good luck with your clan!

But I see where you come from. I just feel its not worth it to say the least. Every clan is different and so far looks like I'm the only who feels like this about feeders lol

Too me, feeder clans shouldn't even exist in the first place... Clan wars are meant too be something nice, interesting and a COMPETENTIVE and definately not something just for farm...

I have no respect whatsoever for clan leaders that have clans like that... And the players that join them also. Clan wars are one of the best things this game have too offer, ignoring it will ultimately make you a worst and newbier player than a player that wars seriously and regularly.

Sounds like you don't want to so don't. If you are not putting a lot of effort into it then it will be a waste. So in this case, waste.

Feeder clans can be good if you set the bar high enough. But, if you're not into them, you shouldn't make one.

In the experience of my clan and I, feeders are useful and effective for multiple reasons. First of all let me put out there that we are a hard core war clan. If that isnt the case for you then this isnt the best info for you. Anyway, we find that our feeder was a good decision because we can test out new members before sending them to the main to war. It gives them a chance to prove themselves and for us to see what they have to offer. Also, members from the main who have a hero upgrading can hop down to feeder to war there until they have both awake again. Hope this helps!

What does this even mean?! Lol Feeder clans go to war, the sole purpose is for them to improve and grow. By constantly warring their learning new skillls and improving. You're bringing expeirenced players from your main clan to help others that are new to the game. Usually a "good" clan doesn't accept newbies but a feeder clan, that's what they look for.

We started one a few weeks ago. It is a lot of work! You have to drop some of your better players down there to groom and provide guidance. The vast majority of those you get aren't serious about, they are lower level TH8's. War is down right infuriating at times watching some of them attack. It takes a lot of patience. The only ones we have that show any potential are the Th8's that we had that dropped down. We don't accept anything in the main clan other than very close to maxed TH9's and medium to later stage TH10's. In the long run I don't see it working at all but I do enjoy helping out new places and I can try out different strategies in war without really compromising anything like a loss in our main clan would.

It really depends what you want to get out of it. I mean if you find a townhall 8 that started playing a couple months ago with 400,000 gold grab. They won't take long to be knocking down your standards. It would be nice to have a place to keep them until they are prepared to join your clan. The main problem with feeder clans is that it's usually alts and very inactive players.

See that was the main problem that we had in previous clan with feeders. It was all of our alt accounts in there along with few newer players. In the end the newer players became inactive and the point of the feeder became useless.

I also feel with a feeder clan it adds to more clans available while there are not many "free agents".

I have run a "feeder" clan for a year. I quickly determined that alts would not work, so with rare exceptions we don't allow them. If the purpose is to develop great clashers then having alts is not helping.

It is a lot of work, and it will dilute your clan for a bit.

I suggest starting with mostly th7 and lower members. Use a few of your own th9 and 10s as elders. Make them earn elder and then honor elder in the feeder as an elder in the main. Pretty soon you will have max th8s ready to war in the main clan who are long term honored elders.

Our feeder clan was a debacle. It somehow became a place where everyone we kicked ended up. Not for us.

Depends on the clan and the scenario. the bar rarely raises in my clan and it's usually for new members. People who have established themselves in the feeder get leeway if they can 3* consistently.

I had the experience before of running and leading a bunch of low lvls for a feeder clan. It was fun, but very hard. Luckily, they were my in game friends and they had no care if it plummeted or not. It ended up being a failure after a some months because I really missed them and wanted to go back. That is definately the only reason why it failed.

Other than that, I saw that when they were ready they were able to go to the main/original clan. It was also another ~50 people that kinda recruited for the main, too, and it got more people in the original. If you are looking to expand, give a trustworthy elder to lead, but it also helps to send a Co or two over to help with recruiting. It is really your call.

For main clan members, it can also be their 2nd home while they're upgrading...

Once you get multiple clans you need another app for inter-clan communication. Also create a google doc of "banned" players so if you kick a player from one clan they don't show up in another.

I ran a feeder for a while. I think they only work as a "feeder" if the main clan is very active with very high standards ( skill or level) Our clan is solid but not hard core.

The point of a feeder is to send all the good players away so it is a lot of work. We ended up with low levels players and rushed high level players. The clan was a lot of fun and we won a lot of wars but as a feeder we were a failure.

We finally merged back because the main clan started to fall apart. I now lead the main clan and we have a feeder but it is more of a family clan. I think I got one player our of it. But they can join the main clan and get maxxed war troops ( as we are lvl 5) so it is fun.

It works best if ppl have alts in both.
