The compulsion to check to your base.....

This is the well known crack of clans effect.

Yeah I like check my base constantly even though sometimes there is no reason too.

Nah the whole point wasn't worrying about shields, rather that I have absolutely no reason to check my base because it is shielded for 2 days.

Most of my income is from raiding too, but my storages are full, my clan castle loot is full so the point about getting the 2 day shield was so my storages and CC couldn't be raided and I could take a break from the game and arrive at TH10 with:

Storages @ 8 mill gold & elixir, 200K DE
CC @ 1.8 Mill gold & elixir, 7K DE

plus

Collectors and mines @ 1.2 million gold and elixir with 3.6K DE

which would give me 11 million gold and elixir head start and 210K DE head start into TH10 upgrades

I periodically check to collect my loot, re-arm traps, donate, etc., everyday. It takes 30 or less seconds, so I say no big deal.
