He knew he'd be getting matched with strong TH9, and can deal with those without much trouble - but saying it's his fault to be put against a TH10 with max infernos is just bull-sh#*
Now he's all delusional and thinks he can 2 star that thing too... His pekkas attack in the other war boosted his confidence a bit too much
The amount of threads cropping up on this annoys me a little. Although it seems unfair, it's always in the eye of the beholder. We have roflstomped on as many bases we have been seemingly been outnumbered, it's all just part of the game.
A lot will complain on the forum and others will comment that 'that's a sign the matchmaking is poor', but what you gotta remember is that one side will always be stronger than the others, so for every 1 team that complains, there's 1 team that is loving it. People here fail to appreciate that only a tiny tiny portion of players participate in a forum, and as people more often come to complain than praise, it means that it's only a very small number bothered enough to come here and complain about it.
The fact that escapes people is a failure to appreciate the nature of online games; they will always be dependant on the current player pool at the time you are playing. As good to players tend to war more they are online more, will choose to war at key times etc, and in time there will be a bigger divide in the upper strength teams and lower ones. As for instances like yours shown here, you have such a broad spectrum of town hall levels that any 'mismatches' will be more likely. What the chance that a team of identical levels, even close to yours, will be online and searching to fight at exactly the same time? It's actually very slim, but so many think that there's like infinite pools of teams out there close to them and there's not.
I've worked on the side of developers analysing these kinds of statistics and I can tell you that an MMO field is actually a very fragile system and the spread is far from even in skill levels. Console fps's especially are dominated by a small pocket of heavy use players, with the majority becoming more like cattle, who squabble with each other but are ultimately preyed on by the wolves. It's true of every game. SC do pretty well to even get matches under the circumstances, given the variables they are working to.
Just gotta roll with the punches man, and take the good with the bad. If you want better wars, sticking with town halls closer in range will be much better, and in the event you get a mismatch, you have more potential of close bases able to handle what some on your team can't. It's why I repeatedly tell people on global to stop trying to join powerful clans as it won't make you stronger: you will do far better personally and as a team if you war with a clan of a similar level to you.
Yeaah sure we can win this...
Here's something we do. We try not to post our #1 player's name, clan name, and complete war village design with all traps exposed on a public forum just in case our opponents have access to, you know, Google. If you think he's mad now, just wait until he sees what you did. :saywhat:
I'm saying if he had worked on a balanced approach to offense and defense- before putting down xbows...yes, he would have better matchups for the clan.
Being matched up with infernos, certainly not directly his fault. Its just how the clan weights come into play. A bad matchup can certainly happen from time to time, the system is not perfect. When you start getting a pattern of them- time to reevaluate the clan makeup and what you are doing.
Come off it OP you should know by now that clan wars aren't about matching individuals in one team against individuals in the opposing team but by the team as a whole against the other team!
In this case the top one or two members of their clan are much stronger than the top one or two players in your clan but what about the rest of the matchup? Is their team much stronger collectively than your team or are there other mirror numbers where your players outmatch the opposing clan and thus the two clans are roughly balanced overall?
I'm not sitting here and saying that every war is perfectly balanced between clans but to cry about extreme war mismatches and only show one singular player in your clan against one singular player in the opposing clan is disingenuous to say the least. If you can show that your opponent's total offence and defence weight of all the members in the war massively exceeds yours then I'll agree that you are extremely mismatched but not on the strength of one player versus the opposing mirror.
In my experience most of the time the matchmaking is good but occasionally we run into clans exploiting the system. Here's how they are doing it, knowing can help you get better matches. The problem seems defensive buildings count for a bit too much compared with walls heroes and offense. So what the unsporting clans are doing is gaming the system by upgrading offense and walls and not defensive buildings. They are also only upgrading key offensive units for war.
Teams that have chosen defense over offense are in the worst possible scenario. Sound like this could be you guys, look at your bases to see if this is the case. We went up against an Asian clan that had 4 bases in a 7/8/9/10 war that were weighted as 7s but were actually th9 w maxed or almost maxed lavaloons. They had no other troops upgraded and had only basic maybe th4 defensive buildings. Even though they were easy to three star they three starred 8bases All our top th8 and bottom 9s. It doesn't take a genius to see this is effective as part of a group.
I think the basic design of war is fun but flawed. The fact that you get two attacks instead of one puts more value on offense and has lead to the "defenseless bases w max offenses exploit" it allows clans to have low level snipers that give up 3 low stars but yield 6 mid/high level stars. The problem with this is it clearly impacts the fun of other players. War is expensive in time and resources, losing war is a net loss in resources, I don't believe the xp gain offsets this. Throwing in the towel or barching for xp on a ridiculous war matchup may sometimes be your best strategy.
frankly, I think matchmaking could be done better. Teams should have an offense and defense score that are separate and it should try to match both at the very least. Ideally it should also use statistics to ensure teams with high variation in player off and def score are matched similarly so that the exploiters are matched with each other as much as possible. if this means those with weird combinations in their team have to wait longer to get a match so be it, after all you choose your team. War lasts two days why can't matching take more than 5 mins?
Saving grace here is the player community, most players do not exploit and most of your matches should be fun. Every now and then you'll get a bad one. If you are consistently getting bad ones look to see if you've chosen def buildings over offense, walls, n heroes and start reversing it to get better matches. Hope this helps.
