Military Unit Organization/New Clan War Idea
Hello all,
I happened to have come across this idea yesterday, and I took the entirety of today to think about it and to put it into this post. I thought it'd be just a cool idea to share with you all, and I'd like you to comment your opinions or suggestions or whatever, so that this could actually maybe one day have a chance of happening, although I'm 98% sure it won't. But a little background about myself and my interests so you understand why I came up with this.
I plan on hopefully going into the military through West Point. One thing that always fascinated me was military (mainly Army) unit structure. That is, platoons, battalions, divisions, all that jazz. I just think that it's pretty cool how each unit can group together into a bigger unit, and that bigger unit groups into an even larger unit, and so on and so forth. It's mind-boggling, and I just think it's awesome. So the idea hit me last night: hey, what if in some universe where the Clash of Clans leaders found this idea and liked it, we could organize CLANS into these formations?
I know what you're thinking, "what is this kid on?". The reason I'm posting it on here is simply to give you the benefit of imagination, because it's highly likely something like this won't happen. Here's how army organization works: one squad has about 8-12 people. 3 squads usually form a platoon, 2-8 platoons usually form a company, 2-6 companies form a battalion, 2+ battalions form a regiment, 2+ regiments form a brigade, 2-4 brigades form a division, 2+ divisions form a corps, and finally, 2-4 corps form a field army. I just find it fascinating, because the organization is pretty cool. Each unit multiplies itself into another unit, eventually creating a field army of about 100,000-200,000 people, usually with a four-star General (O-10) in charge.
Now, forget about squads and platoons. Here's where my idea comes in. What if, each clan was it's own company! Then, 2-6 clans/companies would form a clan battalion, 2+ clan battalions form a clan regiment, and yadda yadda, you know the drill. Each clan would have its designated units, maybe in the bio or name (if the increase the character limit to more than 15), i.e., say I create a clan and get designated to a formation. I could name my clan whatever, but in the bio it'd say "3rd CoC Battalion, 5th Coc Regiment, 8th Brigade, 7th Field Division, 2nd War Corps, 3rd Clash Army." Those titles after the number were completely made up, but in real life there are Infantry Divisions and there used to be Shock Armies and such. A "Clash Army" would have 256 clans each, give or take. That's if each clan was a company. If that's too many, each clan could be it's own battalion, regiment, or brigade, but really that should be the highest. A clan being a higher unit would result in a more manageable army due to fewer clans, but clans on average have like 20-40 people, rendering the title of a regiment or brigade kind of useless.
Now, who could manage such units? That's where you guys come in. Like I said, this is still in the works, and even then it's just a concept. Clan leaders would obviously be company/battalion/regimental/brigadier commanders, because they manage their own clans. However, managing a GROUP of clans would take someone special, and it's been proven to this day that it still works. There are enormous clan families who are usually under one person in the most senior clan. So in the universe where this idea exists, such a person would be in charge of a clan battalion at least, and a clan division at most. Anything from a division to an army would have to be a group of people, like a council. Its just be too much for one person, because a division would be 64 or so clans, give or take. One thing's for certain though: the higher the command, the higher the level/war star/trophy requirements. These people could be chosen by Supercell administrators themselves, but they should be responsible people who wouldn't mind taking Clash a little too seriously, like yours truly. Along with cooperation from lower levels, only then could something like this work.
I know I've spoken a lot already, but I tend to talk/write a lot when it's about something I'm excited about. So ultimately, here's the final question: what's the purpose of such organization? To that, I have two answers. One, it looks pretty. And two, if such a thing were possible, it could be applied to clan wars. Clan wars would be taken to an incomprehensibly awesome new level. Instead of pitting clan vs clan against each other for individual gains, there could be huge wars in between clan armies. Take this for example. I'm pretty sure there are THOUSANDS of good, healthy clans out there, varying from low-strength to friggin baller. With thousands of clans, dozens of armies could be formed. For now, let's call the two days of clan war a war period. The contest would be between two whole armies. During the first war period, individual clans from each army would be automatically assigned against each other, with the top clans from one army's battalion/regiment/brigade/etc. being put against the top clans of other army's battalion/regiment/brigade/etc. Individual clans will be matched equally against each other based on rating, strength, etc. Basically, battalions will be put against each other, as each clan in a clan army is in fact part of a battalion in the army. At the end of the first war period, the victor at battalion level will be decided, depending on which army had more battalion wins. Then onto the second war period, regiments will be put against each other. Every clan that was just in a war will war again, so virtually every clan in the army, but this time instead of being identified as battalion vs battalion, it would be regiment vs regiment. There will be the same number of individual clan wars, but the victor at regimental level after the second war period will be the army with the most regimental wins, not battalion wins. Think of it like this: during the first war period, the clans "Night Fury" and "Phoenix Ashes" are in an individual clan war. Night Fury is part of the 4th Clash Army's 6th Battalion with another clan, and Phoenix Ashes is part or the 7th Clash Army's 13th Battalion with another clan. Obviously, the 4th and 7th Armies are at war with each other. However, since it's the first war period, the battles take place at battalion level. Meaning, if Night Fury beats Phoenix Ashes and the other clan in Night Fury's battalion beats the other clan in Phoenix Ashes's battalion, then the 6th Battalion of the 4th Clash Army beat the 13th Battalion of the 7th Clash Army. If at the end of the first war period the 4th Clash Army has more battalion wins than the 7th does, then the 4th has won at the battalion level.
During the second war period, Night Fury is put against another 7th Clash Army clan. However, the battalion designation doesn't matter anymore, because that fight already happened. However, Night Fury is part of the 4th Clash Army's 3rd Regiment. Since the second war period is at regimental level, Night Fury is now part of the battle between the 3rd Regiment of the 4th Clash Army and the 17the Regiment of the 7th Clash Army. Say these regiments are 4-8 clans in size (one regiment=2+ battalions). By the end of the second war period, if the 3rd Regiment, 4th Army has more individual clan war wins against the 17th Regiment, 7th Army, then the 3rd Regiment beat the 17th at regimental level. In accordance to this, if the 4th Clash Army won more regimental level battles than did the 7th Army, the 4th won at regimental along AND battalion levels.♥
This would keep going until the fifth war period ends, where individual corps are fighting each other. An individual war period would see dozens of clans warring over the same two day clan war period. And in total, there would be 5 war periods to an actual clan war between armies. War Period I would be at battalion level, War Period II would be at regimental level, War Period III would be at brigadier level, War Period IV would be at divisional level, and War Period V would be at corps level. In total, a clan war between two armies would take 10 days, 2 days for each war period. 5 war periods would be the best option because it's an odd number, so there will always be a clan with more war periods won. After each war period ends, a new clan will automatically be assigned to your clan for battle, with a message like "You have been assigned against 'Dark Matter' of the 5th CoC Brigade, 8th Division, etc., for War Period III at brigadier level. Best of luck." And then the new war period begins, and everyone is back into another two day clan war. After the 10 day war, if the 4th Clash Army won War Periods I, II, and IV, and the 7th Clash Army has won Periods III and V, then the 4th Clash Army has defeated the 7th Clash Army once and for all.♥Prizes to the winning army could be decided at a later time, but they would probably involve gems or stars towards a new achievement or something.
I know I've written you guys a novel, and if you stuck through with me to the end, I truly thank you. I know I'm just some kid with an idea, but I wanted to share it with you all. Any feedback is welcomed. Questions, comments, suggestions, and criticisms are all welcomed. Of course, if you have nothing nice to say, keep it to yourself. Like I mentioned earlier, this is all still in the works, and is still purely conceptual. But feel free to contact me about anything about it, I really encourage. Hopefully I've gotten the gears turning in all of your heads. Thanks for taking the time to read this lengthy post, and don't forget to leave comments or message me. Until next time.
