Where are the butterflies?

Ok so every now and then you see visitors to your farm such as frogs, foxes and birds. There are specific decorations used to attract them (none of which attract the foxes). Frogs jump into ponds, birds land on bird houses, but butterflies? There are decorations designed to attract butterflies such as dahlias, daisies, but the problem is I've never seen these insects. I've been playing this game for weeks and have never seen any butterflies at all. So my question is... Where are the butterflies? Are they a rare phenomenon? Are they even here?
If they are here, any pictures of these wonderful creatures will be appreciated! I'm not talking about the one standing still on a white flower of course (obtained from wheel of fortune).

They disappeared with the snow update. I guess butterflies aren't suited to wintery conditions. They've been replaced by snow flurries.
I'm sure well get them back when the snow disappears.

Yep there in hibernation for the winter...:)

Ohh I see. I guess we won't see them for a while :(

I once had three birds sitting on my bird house lol. Not sure what the maximum is... but you will occasionally see them flying around or sitting on the trees in your farm.

its all frogs now. i have been chasing the frogs away with my campfire but they keep respawning when i open hayday

The butterflies are all on vacation for the winter. :)
