Poison Spells ruining cc strategy

Except people were bringing lightning before anyway. And I had most success with defending after the update. And how I had a witch in my cc last defend against a poison spell, which didn't even get the witch, and the witch still didnt do anything. Two star raids on maxed bases happen so fast a witch doesn't even spawn 11 skels if left alone most of the time, so you're better off with an extra 12 barch instead.

And quake is a waste of space.

It was always a competition of time. Its a lot easier to defend than it used to be too. People were winning all of their raids pre-update too. Stop acting like poison made it worse all of a sudden.

Especially when most have hounds and stuff in CCS anyway.

IMHO, poison is a double edged sword. I've seen people waste a lot of time using it to kill loons or on a CC drag just b/c they brought it and felt they had to use it. Also, for first time war attacks or simply in MM, the question is, "To bring or not to bring?" This gets into some reverse psychology: if everyone is countering with high-hp CC troops, then an EQ or extra haste might serve you better. Then again, if everyone starts to see poison as a waste of a slot due to this kind of countering, one could load up with wiz/witch/arch and catch em off guard (albeit only once). I see poison like many others here do, an interesting new twist to the game, nothing more. Hope I brought some new considerations to the debate...

2 thoughts

first, this makes getting an average clans cc's filled much easier, because at worst 3 people can fill them all, because its not so dependent on small units, but usually a drag plus whatever. The CC hound has pretty much been solved now, so a drag is basically the only option. That assumes you have reason to believe you might face an air attack, of course.

second, there is absolutely no urgency to get dark spells. poison is so powerful that it makes itself pointless, because everybody is going to be running drags, so a poison does what? kills 5-10 archers or slightly maims and slows a dragon whose main function is to distract with its hitpoints anyway?

So, I don't know this, I have no data, but I'm just guessing, any clan that simply skips dark spells probably has a war advantage for now, assuming dark spells have a meaningful amount of weight in matching, because poison literally renders itself useless via being so overpowered, because it forces everybody to run a dragon/high hp troops...

In essence, poison is so op it makes the dark spells a non event.

If everybody starts using high HP units as CC troops, won't the poison spell become useless in the near future?

It already is, its so op that it made itself useless within weeks. Seriously, there is absolutely no urgency for any war focused clan to care about dark spells.

This is what I was getting at, if everyone begins to expect a dragon and brings an EQ or Haste instead of their poison, a bunch of arch/wiz/witch could actually throw the attacker off. Reverse psychology...

And that "is variety" i know if i am lavalooning and its a dragon 2 loons in the cc i would be better off using a haste rather than poison.

Last couple of wars, the enemy th8 cc are all just filled with a drag and a loon which can easily be killed by 5 wiz, this makes hogging and gowiping extremely easy Wizards, witches, minions and archers in CC can be combined to make it much harder to kill with a few wiz forcing the attacker to bring witches in cc but now the poison spell just makes this unnecessary.

Sounds like it's time to re-prioritize your CC rankings, because now archers are not great CC troops. It seems drags, loons and valks just moved up the food chain in terms of CC effectiveness.
