Th 8 has the best loot of all THs. You can upgrade stuff in a jiffy as compared to TH9s & 10s. Just concentrate on upGing your defences.
I think It's a good balance, loot and army wise.
@OP, just how long do you want to stay at TH8? If SC keeps adding stuff to TH8 then where is the incentive to upgrade the TH?
Th10s can take 640k storage loot from th9s.
Frequently do now that the Queen is smarter....
Honestly wouldn't care if th8 got some extra king levels, you can have them.

I remember getting attacked by a th9 2 weeks ago. S/he had a couple of giants and wb. The remaining were archers. My base was designed to make the giants circle around the base and step on the traps I have set. Luckily the giants were lured to the trap. Three defenses down against some giants. The person then deployed his/her remaining troops with the aq. Since the mortars didn't go down, the archers just died fast. Archer Queen left. Brought down the at hitting her and went straight for my gold. The mortars kept on hitting the aq to no avail.
There. 270k gold, 140k lix, and 600 de stolen just from the aq. That kept happening to me but with different armies.

On topic: A higher TH always steamrolls a lower TH in this game. Such is CoC Life. I don't really get the complaining about imbalance in this thread.
Every aspect of this game is imbalanced. Mass Drags are imbalanced/OP on TH7's. Giant/healer TH6....lvl 4 hogs TH8. You should see the broken mess high Champ/Titan league is with 1 cup offers/+ 20 for defense, long cloud searches, etc. still plaguing end game despite the multitudes of complaints and apparent updates.
Bottom Line: This is the game we all grew to love and play. Everyone has to deal with it the same. So you want a revamped TH8 to better defend against TH9's and the AQ? Lol, not going to happen. If so, they might as well rebalance the entire game as every TH suffers the same issue vs. a higher TH.
Instead, the solution to your problem is quite simple. Make use of your raid sessions and spend loot before you log. Have a builder idle for a wall dump or next expensive upgrade ready. Move your TH out to entice attackers to snipe/aka give you shield. These are all measures that can help you if you wish to mitigate your obliteration by TH 9's.
I think TH8 is pretty balanced right now. Only thing they could add would be a better hog deterrent for them...
Will you be complaining when u make it to th9 and start steamrolling th8s.no I doubt it.
Maybe ul then start saying th9s need lvl 7 giants or infernos cos u can't take down th10s.
It's the circle of life,the nature of the game,all current th9s/10s have been there ul get ur chance.
Townhall 8 gets a great buff. It's called Townhall 9.

Not exactly sure you as a th8 should be complaining...
You do realise that a th10 with a railroad spike driven through their skull can still wipe a th9 out just as easily if not even easier than a th9 vs a th8?
If anything th9 should gets their troops buffed I mean th9 doesn't even get all lvl 6 troops unlike you th8s that get all the lvl 5s when you upgrade.
Th8 also probably gains the most important tool for destroying th9-10 though with the golem along with lvl 3 pekkas. You can pretty much two star any th9 with go wipe and even decent th10s as well.
And why should th7s not be complaining about you th8s? You gain the poison spell which pretty much frees up another spot for that third rage(that th7s don't have) along with the earthquake spell which works as well as if not better than the th9s jump spell!
Th9s don't get squat in terms of decent troop lvls to take down each other whereas you can with the tiniest skill needed 3 star another th8.
Th9s actually need to work for that 3 star against another th9.
In terms of defence you th8s get the largest buff before th10, you get two whole point defense levels which can help a great deal when defending. Compare this to th9s who only get 1 new level.
Don't even start on the aq though, haven't you noticed all the complaint threads about her? If she is the only reason your complaining then man up ♥♥♥♥♥. Get a real base not just a weak base that a th7 could beat up.
Also in terms of loot cap, you do realise that every th9 point defense upgrade is above 3 million don't you? Compare this to th8 where the maximum upgrade cost is only 3 million it kinda puts it into perspective on just how expensive stuff is at th9.
Getting to maxing each th level a fully maxed th9 has a ridiculously large wall cost that is only farmed by hardcore players of bots in China. The th9 xbow upgrades to lvl 3 costs 7 million and pretty much the only use the xbow has other than great range is huge hit points.
Back to heroes, if you are a truly dedicated th9 willing to do heroes you pretty much have them down 24/7 anyway which negatives the usefulness of the queen when farming entirely. Maybe you th8s should get a few more king levels but it doesn't even come close to the cost and the time of hero upgrades at th9.
