I watched OneHive videos literally all day on this strategy and this is what I got when I tried it in our war. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I watched all 1:38 :(
What a shame. Truth is, I watch all those videos as well and it looks so damned easy. Then I try it and get 0 stars. So, instead of looking at raids that were successful 3-stars, I'd like to look at ones that weren't and hear discussion about why they didn't work.

If you can't record the attack, try to post a series of pictures to give us an idea of how it went down?

Hero level plays a major role too. I'm a big onehive fan and I didn't start having success until my heroes were both over 20 (TH9). Keep practicing in multiplayer... the key with goho is let the kill squad reach the core before releasing the hogs. Good luck!

I think can help you with this one.
GoHoWiWi is the main attack force of our clan even our TH8 are using it and we are all having success with it help us to reach lvl 6 clan now almost 7 (5 more wars).
I'm sure you already know the basics because you watch OneHive videos those videos help me too to understand the basics of GoHoWiWi.
Let me breakdown 1st our TH9 standard army composition. (What I mean by standard is this is our base army composition you can add or subtract certain troops from this base composition)
2 Golems
2 Witches
12 Wizards
6 Wall Breakers
Rest Hogs (around 20 hogs)
Spells: 1 Rage 2 heals 1 poison or 4 heals 1 poison.
1st Step:
The Kill squad (Golems, Witches, Wizards)
You can lure or not too its your choice.
Find the spot where you can easily access the Queen and the Castle troops, once the Queen or the Castle troops engage the Golem use your rage or 1 heal(if you have 4 heals spells). That should take care of the queen and the CC troops.
2nd Step Releasing the Hogs:
This is a the tricky part you can go,
1. Surgical hogs (if there are multiple giants bombs location) meaning releasing the hogs buy 7-10 hogs per group depending on how you read the base.
2. Bunch them all up (like we do most of the time) and release them behind your rage spell they are raged while going straight to the core wiping out the tesla and xbow.
3. Release them as 1 group on the sides where the witches and wizards stray around (this happens a lot when your witch and wizards decided to go around and sometimes your hero) protecting your witches and wizards.
3rd Step:
Time your heals be patient if you have lvl 5 hogs they will not die easily I see a lot of our members release their heals spells too early and end up running out at the last part where there are few defenses left.
Important Notes:
1. You can release your hogs even if the enemy AQ is not yet dead make sure the AQ engage the golem already.
2. Common errors are releasing your hogs too late and your kill squad is almost wipe out.
3. You can use 1 Golem if the queen is near the wall and choose to lure the castle troops giving you more hogs or wizards.
We 3 stars max TH9 mid TH9 with this combo even if 1 hero is down, I can post some pics if others want proof. Which I did few weeks back when I made a thread about TH9 attacks.

1. You lured the dragon, take it to the top corner and deal with him there.
2. Begin your funnel from left and right, leaving the middle buildings so the wizards converge to the middle.
3. Too late to drop your queen.
4. Too early on the jump spell.
5. Misplaced jump, the king didnt take it, I think ... it was upside down.
6. Golems got in because of the opening and got killed too early by dragon, AQ, defenses, it looked that there were some high HP buildings that the wizards could have taken out without the need of the golems as a shield ... if you took those out first then the golems could have had backup from the wizards, witches,AQ(if you dropped her) and wouldnt be killed as fast.

The key to GoHoWiWi is knowing how to adjust your army/spells based on the base layout, some bases you need to go more GoWiWi heavy some bases you need to go more Hog heavy.
To break it down very simply, you need to know what the components of your army is supposed to do and what strengths and weaknesses they have. For example:
GoWiWi: great against open bases, luring is optional since it can kill the CC and heroes relatively easily, High HP units that can absorb DGBs, weak against lots of compartments and high level walls. Works well with rage, jump and heal
Hogs: great against closed bases with lots of compartments, having the CC killed before launching them is a must, weak against wide open bases where there are lots of possible double giant bomb sites.
So on more open bases I will generally go more GoWiWi heavy and take spells that compliment GoWiWi with 6 or so hogs as back end cleaners.
Sample army:
2-3 golems
4-7 witches
8-12 wizards
X wall breakers
6 hogs
1 jump
1-2 rage
1-2 heal
On more compartmentalised bases I will generally go Hog heavy and take more heal and use a smaller GoWiWi to kill CC and trigger as many DGB sites as possible. On these raids I will generally lure too.
Sample army:
1-2 golems
2 witches
12 wizards
3-5 wallbreakers
20-24 hogs
1 jump
3 heal
Please note I haven't had a chance to use any dark spells with either of these as the de spell factory has been under continuous upgrade.

Keep on trying, you'll eventually get it. Do some practice runs in multiplayer. :)
