I like using all wizards, and a few healers in my attacks. I am getting very frustrated that they now run all around the the defenders base to take out the easy targets. Before the last update they would mostly go right thru the defending base. I believe it has to do with the last update that said troops will go for the easiest path, well it just plain sucks! Please fix it

It should mean that all of these troops target the very closest, most accessible building, of any type.
They didn't under the old AI. They would needlessly bash through walls an awful lot (ranged troops) when there were buildings in range.
We, the players, more often turned that to an advantage.
My very first raid using wizards post update, I lost them. I was used to: blast outer buildings, walk straight up to wall, blast what's inside, walk in.
They didn't. They walked along the building line. Which makes sense really.
Do you walk past the first toilet if it's clean?
So.....I figured out what I had to do to create the troop behaviour I wanted.
Startling really. Such an intuitive leap.
In short, you cannot core now with range only troops. They use their range, and legs, to find more buildings.
You call that short
It's because they increased the HP on most buildings. You need to take extra time to clear them out before deploying your Wizards. Wizards will always go to the closest building. If you start them on an outer target they will just hop to the next closest one and follow them all around the base. You need to clear the outer buildings from around your entry point so they chose a target behind the first set of walls and work in.Quote:

Well, a lot of others do have a problem with the new AI in war and farming. The amount of funneling you need to do is ridiculous.Quote:

What I got from OP's post is that he complains about AI thinking he should be able to spam wizards expecting then to reas his mind, and tol lazy to learn to funnel.
If All wizards + healers were able to beat bases easily on its own it'll be mega op. Learn to attack.
Why do we only hear about what it was like...that means nothing. You need to adapt to new ways things work. All have to do is take out a few buildings at the sides, a few barbs and archers can often do this. Then release the wiz in the spot you want and they will go in same as before. They go for the buildings that are easy to get. If you wanted to get to a place on the other side of a wall you will go,around the wall to do it, not through the wall. Unless it turned out that going through will make more sense when it comes to time and effort.
Someone in my clan (TH8) uses all healers and (35-40) wizards quite a bit. It's around 150k elixer before (heal) spells. Not too efficient in my opinion. But he shares replays every so often. 2 days ago (I just re-watched the replay) he 3-starred a fellow TH8 for 350k/350k/1.5k. Anyway, he funnels the troops in!Quote:

Sometimes the wandering helps people as well. I have seen attacks where the core is barely killed and only golems remain. If wizards had funneled into the core they would likely move up to attack buildings on the opposite side of the core and die to mortar shots that are killing the golems. Instead they wandered around both sides of the base killing all the stuff that was shooting the lone golems in the core resulting in three star attacks. The ai really works both ways it just seems frustrating when it doesn't go your way.
Funneling means you drop troops at each end then one after another in between the 2 which should make them all meet towards the middle. This will allow you to predict your troops behavior a lot better.
