Im a TH 9 and was sitting in Gold 2 looking to get sniped but only happened every so often when my loot was low. Like some of the others have said, sitting on loot in gold is just asking to get raiding whether your TH is outside or not. The shield works but I'm trying to avoid it myself. best of luck to you.
This. Only save one resource at a time. If I'm saving DE for an upgrade, I dump all my gold and elixir into walls or whatever, keeping the storages low. Similar when I'm saving elixir or gold. Having storages full of all three resources is just too tempting for a raider.Quote:

TH8 upgrades cost peanuts. You really can't block out enough time to session raid for a new upgrade when a builder frees up?
I'm not so mad anymore, I decided to scrap the shield approach and use my gems on 10 level 3 dragons and 3 level 4 rage spells instead, and got a level 4 dragon in my CC.
I 2-starred the stupid (gemmed offence, premie base it seems) TH10 stealing back 400k each. It'll teach him not to mess with lower levels, and to upgrade his crappy bottle rocket air defense, buy some hair dryers and not have his bows on ground only. My dragons LOLed at his disco infernos. Since I broke my shield, I'm probably going to get looted again overnight... Training a goho war army just in case.

pic of your base? walls and defenses are probably bad, or your overall farming setup is weak and thus attractive. So in conclusion:
1) do not break your shield as often as it sounds you are. And always collect on your drills/mines right before you logoff without a shield (collectors greatly increase the loot available to an attacker, and make it attractive to them)
2) when you raid, spend the loot you raided. Why are you constantly carrying so much, especially DE. Balance your builders appropriately and research.
3a) check your farming setup, do not put all your storages together, spread them in compartments and do not keep gold and elix close either. Separate and spread. Its also easier to manage if you must carry a lot of only one type of loot
3b) Upgrade wallz if needed (SKULL)
