I thought hogs were nerfed when the big bombs got their upgrades? Yet I see a lot of people using them again, which Im happy about:) Go hog riders! There should be special forums for the different attackers: hog riders, balavanians, gowipes, barchers, healer/giant/heroes, and whatever army combos I've missed. Once again, go hog riders:)!!!! Ride on my friends, ride on.
Hogs were never gone lol. People just got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ when mass hogs became obsolete and stopped using them because they weren't willing to learn how to attack post-update.
^^ This for sure. They didn't nerf hogs, they buffed giant bombs. You are no longer able to /faceroll deploy hogs for a three star anymore. It takes more skill now to use hogs effectively.Quote:

I have recently had trouble against th9s with max hogs. I never used to. What tips can you give me please?

You cant really use strait hogs on Most TH9s. At least not on any of the "good" Bases.
You either have to Hogowiwi, or Surgical hog.

Even as TH8 I'm using surgicals now and than or hybrids like GoHo, HoLo or GoViz-Ho a lot - sure mass hogs still work, but why start using better tactics first when being TH9?
That way I think I can just go on, with smaller changes, instead of learning from zero again.
Already started successful hog attacks back when they were just level 2, they are 4 since a couple weeks, have an average above of 5 stars every war with hogs.
Also using GiBarch-Ho for farming/trophys, got about 8-12 hogs with, ok that way I need to raid for 800 DE or more, but it works fine.
Think Hogs never been outrolled...

since I almost 3* every war attack I started fight the clock - hogs are great for that, in last war blew away a almost max TH8 within one minute.

Back in the days hogs were a th9 thing. TH8s normally did not get them past lvl2 and attacking every war with them was simply too expensive. Now you can easily bring them to lvl4 at th8 and at th9 get them to lvl5 for a 100% success in cleanup and also destroying low th9s.
Hogs did not disappear, they simply shifted down. In the very beginning they have been useless. Then they started targeting defenses and they were a th10 troop. This was even before clan wars. Then with the infernos on multi they were a troop for high th9s. With the hero change and the giant bomb damage they have been a low th9 troop, after skeleton traps they have been a troop for low th9s attacking high th8s. With the new dark drill they have become a troop for high th8s against high th8s. With the latest dragon nerfs (air sweeper and building hp) they have become the main attack strategy for high th8s because dragons cant 3 star ads lvl6 any more and GoWiPe without queen is only good for 2 stars.

Keep in mind that most of these people talking about surgical hogs don't even know what they are talking about. The ones that do know what their talking about are only going to show you their successful attacks. Hogs fail to get three stars a lot on townhall 9's unless you have high level heroes. Most townhall 9 bases have two sets of giant bombs and they have at least 4 places they could be with none of those four places being the route you would talk to pull the clan castle. Sure you can hog that base and get three stars if it all lines up. Or you can get one star only and do nothing to help your clan. If you don't really know what your doing you should avoid mass hogs.
My heroes are queen 28 and King 25. 3 months ago, I was 3 starring virtually every th9 I came up against. Now I can barely get a single star vs even a mid-th9. SC has changed something, you don't see that kind of drop off otherwise. It's not like I suddenly forgot how to do surgical hogs or what type bases to hit with them.Quote:

They should listen! I don't do that anymore. Hogs move into different directions once they've destroyed a defence. Why would you pre-deploy heal spell in a section where only two hogs would go and the rest went the other way? You should be deploying heal spell where the masses of hogs go!Quote:

My hogs have been max for probably a year now, I never stopped using them. One my my favorite attacks is 16-18 giants, 4-6 hogs, 6 wbs, rest min arch. If you wait until the giants are absorbing the majority of one corner + the core's damage output, drop a heal on your giants (and where your hogs will be heading), then the hogs can easily take out 2-5 defenses (ahead of the giants) while the giants are absorbing most of the damage. Occasionally I'll be up to 80%+ base destruction and there's still 2-3 hogs running around too. That's why I always refer to them as my "cavalry". :)
Haven't tried a mass hog raid since the GB and skel updates though, but they really were a free "I win" button there for a while.
They were never gone. Just had to be used differently and not many people were willing to learn.
