possible idea that will help clans and perhaps help combat hoppers

If your a clan like us and we have a few days cool down for troop requests for new people joining. I.E. we do not donate to newbies until we are sure they may stay. I propose something new to help clans out

The delete or retract troop request.

Option A) Leaders and (probably COs) have the ability to delete member (status)troop requests (i.e. elders and above requests can't be deleted). This can only be done if no troops have been donated, and secondly more importantly there is no cooldown for the requester if their request has been deleted (and if s/he keeps spaming reqs they can get the boot as a resolution to that problem).

The only con I can think of towards this - is that some leaders or cos could be asses and abuse this power however it helps identify them aswell especially if the deleted/rejected request would be logged in the clan chat area

That way a reputable clan stays reputable and a bad clan is also quickly Identifiable

Option B) requester can retract requests - sometimes requests are made when people don't read clan description in advance or just in error (perhaps wanting to clear clan castle first to make room for a particular unit) - this relies a lot more on the requester playing ball, but if both facilities were available then perhaps that would solve a lot more.

Let me know your thoughts.

I'm not sure that many other clans operate this way. I'm pretty sure lots of good potential members sour when they join and receive a frosty reception. Not sure there is a broader need to help clans manage in this fashion.

I really don't see why this is necessary. When new people join my clan and automatically request, I kick them out. I ain't got time for that.

plus you make new members wait for DAYS to request troops? I only make them wait until they've donated to other requests.

Yes we say days anybody can donate a couple of walbreakers and goblins to begin with to leach off us, days earns my maxed troops it shows a level of willingness and commitment, we don't boot straight away because not everybody is savvy in reading clan description to start with, so we tolerate that and we just "ahem" remind them politely to read clan description.

I used to be concerned about making sure people were donating till I had an account join a clan that didnt care about it. Wow what a change. I took it back to my main clan bad we adopted it. I don't want the low levels donations anyway but will freely donate barbs and archers to help them build. I have found being more giving has made my clan more loyal and willing to listen on attacks and who to attack during war. Seems crazy i know but try it. Its does work.

I really don't find the need for any of these 2 suggestions. Does it hurt your wallet to donate 5-6 archers/barbs to a fresh member? I rally don't think there join that many players to request you troops, that you would end up donating more than you can steal. Both of those options would just complicate a lot the simple system of requesting troops, hence why I disagree with both of them. From my point of view, if you have issues with donations regarding new players, then make them understand your rules or kick them out, but don't always come with a suggestion for a complicated system to fix small "issues".

I really don't have a problem with donations one way or the other - I just know hoppers ain't getting my troops end of.

I would argue hoppers is not a small issue - it is the most talked about and yes you can do a lot to combat it but there is a lot more that can be done (within the bounds of reason)

Plus also everybody has latched on the hopper side of things what about the request in error perspective - how many times have you done that - and were annoyed you had to wait 15 mins or gem for such a silly mistake.

It would be interesting to know whether this really is too complicated to code, because they way I see it I think it could actually be quite easy to code.

I just dont see the point in why people get so upset about new people requesting and potentially hopping. In the scheme of things its not that big a deal. In reality, we see very few hoppers that join/request/leave. Most stick around at least for a little. If they hop they hop - why let it bother you?

As for your option B - I would love it in general if someone could retract their troop request and if they did retract it before they got any troops - there would be no time wait to request again. I have done, and see others do it, forget to change my request text and then end up having to wait 15 minutes to request again. And also getting undesirable troops that I have to toss/waste.

Great idea - although for a difference purpose.
