Sure, you might get lucky with a snipe from the occasional lowbie pushing....but that isn't the norm. Also keep in mind the higher you go, the more likely you are to come across stronger players.

Personally, I laugh at every Th9/10 with an exposed TH I see in Masters/champ or above. Thanks for the easy loot bonus, easy cups, and I'll still completely raid your base and take whatever loot you have (assuming its 200K/ 1.5k de or more).

Though at least you'll get a shield afterward ;).

By "higher league" above, they weren't talking about Master/champ level, they were talking about high gold or Crystal level.

And at that level, putting the TH out does work IME, although you certainly do still want a base that the loot is hard to get at.

As a TH9 playing mostly in Crystal 2 or 3 I have two base designs, one with TH out, one with it in. I use the "out" design whenever I have more than about a million of either main resource, or 20K DE. And I find that about 85% (i.e. about 5 attacks in 6) of the time when I do that, I just get TH sniped.

I suspect that if I had a base where the TH was out but the loot was easy, I would get smashed for the loot much more often though.

Shields should be based on what you lose in resources, not what you lose in buildings. Cause let's face it -- you can rock my Barracks and camps and cannons and mortars all you want. This is my first post here. Just seems silly as hell to me.... if you grab a certain % of resources, you should get a shield.

Until then, should I move my TH back to the center? Because I don't have 750K in resources to keep losing.

I had the exact same problem at that trophy level, people would come in, raid the storages and quit just before the 40% mark? I ended up putting the TH directly in the path to get to my storages which helped, but have since moved up to get out of there, those maxed th9 & 10's were just eating me alive

I'm TH9 in crystal 1/2....TH outside, easy snipe. I almost always have juicy loot available to attackers, but my last 39 defences have only seen 2 full on attacks, and 37 snipes. It is farming heaven

Yeah, because they're offered +1/-39 for your base, so why go for a two star that gains you only one cup as well?
As for loot: Even if you're stacked on there, people at 4k get more than 200k each as bonus for a win, so loot definitely is not an issue up there
