Boat twins

I like helping friends with boats. I like filling my own and having them help me. However, its time the designers and programmers make some changes on what is needed for these orders. I just had a boat that required 6 raspberry jam. First of all, it would have taken 42 hours for me to process all of the jam myself IF my friends had none in their stock. Thank God, one did. BUT when I check the next boat's requirements, so I can start stockpiling, guess what it has? Raspberry jam!!! Come on guys seriously??? Production time is completely ridiculous. I've said it before but NOTHING should take more than two or three hours PERIOD. It's bad enough when I get 6 straight orders for fish items which are about 3 1/2 hours to get the meat and cook EACH. I play during my breaks at work but when this type of thing happens, I wonder why I'm wasting my time on this rather than something like Angry Birds. At least IT doesn't leave he holding the bag waiting for a piles of pies and juice to "cook". How about making the game a little more playable and less wait-able. Lastly, as others have said, cross platform. Put it on Android. I hope you will seriously take these suggestions under consideration. Thank you.

I think the game is in part designed to make you want to buy diamonds. In other words, it's designed to be a big, time-consuming grind unless you want to fork over some money to make it easier. So with that in mind I doubt the times it takes to make something is going to change.

If you don't like a boat order and are not going for achievements or leaderboard points, you can always send it back. Sometimes it's better to do so as it might take less time to send it back and complete the next boat than it would to complete the boat you have. Plus you might enjoy the game more not always trying to worry about jam, cream, sugar, etc. To each his or her own, but I have more fun having a stockpile of that stuff, making and selling goods you don't see much and occasionally using it to help others rather than trying to fill a near-impossible boat. I'm always surprised at how many people I see attempting every day to complete terrible boat orders. It can be very difficult to fill them all.

Also, it never hurts to put an ad out on the marketplace, one that will stay up a while. I've been extremely surprised in the past at how many people who aren't on my friends list come to my farm via the marketplace and fill my boat. I've had boxes filled that I thought would take hours to fill by strangers who visited my store.

That said, there does seem to be something wrong with Raspberry Jam in particular, at least based on how many people on my friends list are asking for it every day. The amount of times it appears in boat orders is way out of proportion with the other jams.

I don't know about repeated boat orders, but I do see that boats come to many of my friends with the same EXACT orders around the same time.

Just yesterday and today alone, my friends had three (!) Boats with exactly the same thing consecutively.

Boat last night/early morning: (euro zone) ice cream, blue shirts, eggs
Boat after that: chocolate ice cream, blue shirts, ttomatoe

next boat: popcorn. Wheat. White shirts


Now, someone can calculate the probability of that happening and it is VERY slim if the orders are truly based on a random generator.

i have no idea how the boat orders are generated, but, I have done a cacalculation on the number of possible boats we can have in the game. If they are correct we can have a possible 95284 different boats (at the point where one has unlocked all the possible products that can be asked by boats)

there are 82 items that are possible in the game asked for by boats if you unlocked all items including the coffee machine (No candy, no jewlery, no mine, including all crops and fruits) There are three items/slots. The items can be repeated, two wheat, one jam etc.

so it is a combinatorial calculation (not a permutation) with repetitions.

this site explains well how to calculate this with the analogy of making an ice cream cone: you have 5 flavours, 3 flavours are chosen, and they can be repeated, and order doesn't matter.

the basic formula is this
(N+r-1)! Divided by R!(N-1)!
The exclamation mark is factorial of the number so after using 82 as N and r is 3 you get 95284 possible different boats.

This includes boats with three wheat orders and three BnE orders (which I have seen)


The chances of two people having the same order at the same time, or around the same time, if it is indeed completely random, would be (1/95284) squared which is 1/9079040656

Very very unlikely.


I would definitely hope SC can randomise their orders more. Yes, I get you want diamonds, fine, and I haven't spent a lot of money, but this is just bad game design to ask friends the help the exact same boats 5-6 times when they log in.


The other day, there were raspberry jam boats all day, plus 6-7 raspberry mocha boats at the same time I logged in to help my friends.


If this is designed so no one gets their boat points fast or encourage us to order Tom, then I have to say I am disappointed.

Golly Swisspie, you never cease to amaze me! Would I be lowering the intellectual level of this thread if I just said "it sure was a raspberry jam day yesterday!" Over the weekend, my daughter and I kept getting exactly the same boats.

My friend and I are still on the same track. 4 boats exactly the same. Keeping going to track them and then I will be writing an email to customer service to let them have my opinion about it.


i would appreciate and encourage anyone who has experienced this to write on this thread:) would be helpful if it isn't just some freak coincidence. I never win the lottery anyway. If I did I wouldn't be playing this game. Ironic eh SC?

Yes, it's certainly been a raspberry jam day! Had two consecutive ones, and 3 of my 11 followers and four of my friends were also asking for it 🐮

I think this game expects us to have a good stock of supplies and if we don't, we're supposed to send away the boats. But of course many of us would rather not! Especially those who are still working on their captain's achievement or want boat points. It's just a method to slow down our progress as far as I can tell.

I think there's something fishy about the rasp jam orders. Past few days a LOT of people's boats been asking for them, seemingly all at same time too. Right now my jam maker is only queued with rasp jam to replenish my supply because that's getting used up like mad filling my boat as well as others.

Yes, it seems a lot of users have experienced the raspberry jam mania, but what is even more 'fishy' is my friends and I got the exact same three items for nearly two days now. Four boats we have kept consistent track of, others were on the weekend that were the same but not sure if it was the same consecutively


boat 1 egg, vanilla ice cream, and blue ssweaters.

boat 2 blue sweaters, chocolate ice cream, tomatoes.

boat 3 popcorn plain, wheat, white sweaters.

boat 4 indigo wool red berry cakes

we live in different countries, though in the Euro zone. Will try keep track of these boats as they come (if I can) and edit this post as necessary.

In the other thread I did a calculation and decided that if the boats are in fact random, the probability of two people getting two of the same boats is 1 out of 9 million.


Therefore I don't believe the boats are random at all. I think they have a particular sequence which vary depending on when the player logs in or chooses to send away particular types of boats. I can't tell SC what to do different because I don't know exactly how it is done, but there are 82 different things possible to be asked on boats, with 95284 possible boats.
(using a calculation of combination with possible repetition (not permutation as order matters not))

i have said on other threads that I don't mind sending off the difficult ones, but it does bother me that with so many possible combinations, we don't have more variety in boats.

It's not good for the game. People cannot help another easily, but maybe that's what they want, they want us to spend diamonds to help boats or speed up products or use Tom.

Fair enough, they want their money, but it feels like beating a dead horse by now, asking those who don't want to spend to spend, and those who spend already have given them enough money, IMHO.

This is also the reason why I believe SC will never allow us to trade in the game. It is allowed on the forum because so little of their player population visit it for help. It is the mere imbalance of products and demand of boats within the coding that encourages the average player to spend on diamonds. If players did trade to get X, Y, Z for their boats or to expand the barn, they would lose a lot of their profit. That's my guess anyway.

Well I gather that before I started playing you could open more than three crates, so they must have reduced that option for a reason. My daughter has reminded me that at the weekend her boats actually mirrored mine twice. Can't remember the contents the first time but the second was apple pies syrup and wool. Me first, hers about one and a half hours later.

I wonder if anyone else has had a chocolate cake day. I did two friends with choc cakes yesterday and have them myself today. Also three friends wanted choc ice cream today, which I can't yet do. But mostly, everywhere I go its jam, jam, and more jam.
