Lavapine
Lavapine (lava porcupine)
WARNING: This feed is rather long because I've put as much detail in it as possible, so that you all can see my vision. Please try to read all of it before commenting and If this comes off a bit OP, keep in mind only TH10 players will be able to unlock this beast.
Core Idea
- Defenses + Post Death DMG
- Make Archers/Larrys More Effective
- The Lavapine is the latest ground troop designed to help large groups of troops be a better shield and overall more effective. I must first give credit where its due because this idea was inspired by KMS’s “Glacierpine” and TheKing8133 “The Sky Fish”. Go ahead and give them both a read to see where I’m coming from. Now for how it works…
- The Lava pine rolls up into a ball and quickly moves toward splash defenses (wizard towers and mortars).
- On its way it rolls over walls leaving a trail of lava in its wake that damages the wall, building, or troop it rolled over or by. This trail has lasting damage duration of 2 seconds at 25 DPS on each tile it rolls over
(Main purpose being to kill CC troops chasing the lavapine)
- Once it reaches its target, it unravels, stands up, and starts slashing with its claws.
- While rolled in a ball the lavapine takes 50% less damage from all defenses
- When it dies, it explodes with splash damage similar to a golem, and shoots its needles in 4, single targeting directions, hitting any building, wall, or defensive troop within a 2-tile radius. These lava needles are deadly and deal 300 points in damage to the object it hits.
- After all splash damage defenses have been destroyed, the lavapine targets the next closest building, not defence.
Appearance
- The Lavapine should largely resemble the lava hound with charcoal black skin, and cracks in its body to see its lava red/orange interior
- Spikes should be plenty and all over so that when balled up, it just looks like a large spike ball
- Spikes should also be red/orange but thin enough to still see the body
- Once upright, the lavapine should stand about as tall as a lvl 1 P.E.K.K.A and when balled, just about as big as a hog rider

Offensive Strategies
- LavaBarch: Drop your Lavapine first to destroy wizard towers and mortars, and let archers wreak havoc. Barbarians for defensive distraction
- LavaGoWi: Golems and Lavapines work well together although taking up a lot of space. Use them both to distract / take out defenses while Larrys do all of the legwork.
- LavaWiHog: Lavapines and Hogs quickly rush to defenses allowing Witches and Larrys to go HAM!
Defensive Strategies
- Don’t centralize all mortars in the middle of your base, the more spread out, the more space the lavapine needs to cover.
- Position Splash defenses close to but not next to single target inferno towers. Once unraveled the lavapine can only take 3 seconds of inferno tower heat
FAQ
Wont These Just Replace Golems?
- With less than half the health, and quick movement speed, this troop would not be effective at redirecting fire away from important heavy troops, so no.
Does this troop just destroy everything it rolls over?
- No the lavapine only leaves a trail of lava doing 25 DPS for 2 seconds on each tile it rolls over.
- So overall 50 points damage to any stationary wall or building it rolls over which is not much at all.
- Main purpose in this is to kill skeleton traps or week cc troops that chase the lavapine
