increase use of underused products

I'd like to see some of the most underused products get some greater utility:

Goat milk is only used to make feta - please find additional uses for this. Yogurt? Alternate pet food? Cosmetics? Any other ideas?

Indigo is grown to dye four wool/cloth items. That's not much considering it grows fairly quickly and unlocks early. Maybe add an indigo candle, denim overalls, quilts, bonnets, floral arrangements, others?

Wheat, while not unused could still be called underused going by the state of the paper. Please add something like: bonnets, baskets, grass skirts, etc.


Does anyone else have ideas for using these products or have noticed other underused items?

These are nice ideas and it certainly would be nice to use those products for more than they are currently.

(Although im pretty sure I just heard my barn sigh!)

Denim jeans are a great idea! Clolth and indigo = easy!

Straw hats that use 10X Wheat would be great!

I love these ideas!

Maybe in a soup, pasta dish, salad dressings? Add the dressing to make other salads. Use in a bread? Combine cow and goat milk into a new cheese? How about a banchetta with bread, goat cheese and tomatoes? Sauces?

Even though indigo is so common in the paper I like to grow my own because it's so pretty.
So yes, I would love to do more with it.

Its also true that my goats usually get milked only enough so I can have some on standby to fill an odd flagged crate or truck order. I just can't seem to find much dairy time to get goat cheese out.
It would be awesome to have a dairy just for the goats milk. Then I could use it more.
sometimes I have to send Tom for goat cheese.

Artisan soap made with goat's milk, and coloured with indigo. Voilà! Problem solved.

They would be very popular in the Gift Shop and all our visitors would have beautifully soft skin. Boat orders would also want them.

The designers can be really creative with their soap designs because soap comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes: Little purple roses or hearts, big creamy-coloured bars with an elegant purple stripe or decorated with a piece of indigo, purple spotted dinosaurs...whatever! Of course, this would mean a new soap making machine. Maybe the soap machine could be kept busy with lovely 'wheat & honey' soaps or 'apple & blackberry' variations. Some soaps could be based on olive oil instead of goat's milk. Some could be a mixture of beeswax and goat's milk. There is huge scope for soap.

Yes I love this idea :-):-):-) There was a little country store near me once that sold goat milk soap....it was wonderful... :-):-) I can see many possibilities for a soapmaking machine in hay day...many different types and a perfect product for a farm to produce. I hope they will consider this as our next machine!!!!

Any news on a soap machine, Supercell? We're excited about the possibility of doing something new with our ingredients.

A soap machine sounds great, so many possibilities with current ingredients!
I don't have the hat machine yet, but I like the idea of a straw hat... Isn't it a must for a farmer...?

Love these ideas!! And yes, my barn is sighing too haha!

But then the goats cheese is used in soup and tarts already
barn/silo upgrades too slow to cope with increased products and would make Derby even harder.

It's a good idea to make more stuff for things that need to be made into.
