Dragons need to have a favorite target. The favorite target should be air defenses because lightning speed would only take one out and u wouldn't have enough for all air defenses.

Use a Lava Hound.
They would be to OP then. Imagine all you have to do is drop 11 dragons they kill all the AD and then they 3 star the rest of the base. I would suggest using rage instead of lightning and place the dragons by the AD.Quote:

Using lightning on AD is only effective for TH8 and 7. You have to use real strategy for TH9 or 10. And its doable. You. Just. Have. To. Think. It. Through.

You should try using troops set up for the base your against. You unlock dragons at TH7. At TH7 and 8 there good, but higher up, you can get better troops for air, such as the lavaloon strategy.

5 well placed level 3 seeking air mines are capable of bringing 5 of your 12/13 2700 hp level 5 dragons down to 600 hp. Barely alive. That's almost half your total army hp lost to just those traps. Not counting the damage 4 level 8 air defenses will do. Or 7 level 13 archer towers...or 4 level 8 hidden teslas...or 2 level 3 inferno towers...
I dont think lvl 3 drags are meant to take out a TH10, thats why they had Lvl 4 before and now they have lvl 5. Although one person in my clan in a fit of desperation did manage to 2 star a TH10 in war. Layout was favorable and she was smart.Quote:

There are strategies where you only use 2 to 4 high lvl drags along with other troops like loons, hounds, golems or even hogs. Get a little creative. I suspect people will figure out that drags in some capacity are effective.
I am working on upgrading mine but I have seen what people can do today with lvl 4. It can only get better with lvl 5.
