Usable heroes while leveling them up

Maybe not for farming purposes, but at least for clan wars. Many attacks in clan war rely heavily on having heroes for your attacks (especially th 9-10) and it would be nice if we could use them. Here are a few of the suggestions:

1. Remove cool down completely for heroes in CW
2. Have them on normal cool down for CW only
3. Make them usable once with a fee of Dark Elixer (500 or so each)
4. Just remove the sleep time while upgrading completely (unreasonable?)

Just a few thoughts. I know having to upgrade heroes is a pain when your clan is in war. The fact that you can use them anytime except when you upgrade seems a bit unfair.

I bolded #3 - you know you can make heroes usable in war with gems? That's your fee.

I would like to see heroes in war while they are upgrading, but I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon. If you aren't that confident in your ability to war without a hero, opt out! I do.

It's not about being confident, it's about having a sharp disadvantage that you don't have all the time. If you are going against a max th10, you are going to need heroes. Simple as that.
