Wrong logical question, it has to be 'Valkyrie AND Hogrider' not 'or'... :cool:
Tried GoViz - Ho a few days ago, changed almost instant to my main style.
But Valks are way underrated, as long the base design matching with a tight layout, they burn down anything in seconds.
On a wide layout they can be wasted troop space...
Same on Hogs, if the base allows a good and fast pass, they can act very great and blew away defense for the rest to clean up.
hardly can decide which are better.
If it comes to a full attack I'd rate Hogs a bit higher, but on hybrids they are pretty equal.
I like both but I usually prioritize hogs because they're great in war
Valka have better stats, Hogs are more effective (for the most part) in war. I like to throw a few Valks in my GiBarch from time to time, they eat up a core very nicely.
Tough to compare as their jobs are drastically different.
I however absolutely prefer using Hogs. Even with their several nerfs they can still play a great support role with Hybrid Golem based armies.
Valkyries? I'd rather take a lv 5 PEKKA. For TH9 however a max Valk is superior against a clustered base compared to a lv 3 PEKKA.
I upgraded my Hogs to 5 months before I had upgraded my Valks to level 2. I'm more comfortable using them in war and I fell prey to the hype that valks are garbage troops.
I've recently upgraded my Valks to level 4 and am loving them! They are terrors against any base with a large core. Put a heal spell on 8+ of them in the core and they won't go down until everything is dead and they are smashing on walls to get to other compartments!
Valkyries have replaced pekkas for me now, and I'd say I like them more than hogs, but that's probably because they're something new in the game for me now :D
I've been using gowiwiva in war recently for easy 2 star against high th9s. I keep messing things up do no 3 star, but the 2 star is easy
They serve completely different rolls. That's like asking what's better a Hound or a Loon. Valks are by far my favorite troop (aside from loons which should be everyone's favorite troop) and im pretty decent with them...but they aren't a core unit like hogs are. I can (and do on my donation account) get away with using lvl 1-2 valks in a VaLoon or VaHoLo attack..,I can't get away with using lvl 1-4 hogs though (I mean I guess if I dipped down to premie 9s...but You know what I mean).
If it comes to maxing one or the other then you should always do hogs. VaHoLo is OP at th9 if you know how to use it (basically use valks to take out 1-2 ADs, Queen, and possibly CC, hog take 1-2 and queen might need to take 1 then hogs and loons clean up with any valks left over) but you can't use it with low lvl hogs...you can get away with low lvl valks. Same deal with loons. You can't VaLoon with lvl 5 loons at th9 but you can totally use lvl 2 (sometimes even 1) valks

I use both, in the same raid. I use my Valks to take down the AQ, CC and Blitz the core. Then I flank or cavalry charge (up the rear) with my Hogs. I pushed to 3600 with Valks, Witches, and Hogs (got a few th10 3 stars)
Their roles are different
Valkyrie are best suited for a core rush and killing the cc/heros
Hogs clear defenses quickly but need tons of support (no heal = dead quick)
I'm top attacker and my main issue with hogs is the x2. If I hit some bad luck (dgb) and fail - it's prob an unstared base.
I've actually gotten fond of mixing 5-7 giants in with 6-8 Valkyrie with freeze/heal on my core Blitz. Gotten a few regular raiding 3 stars on open bases now doing it (3 golems along too). For that particular purpose Giants do very well. Soak up inferno beams, protecting Valks/wiz long enough for me to position and drop a freeze/heal (my point is units serve different purposes)
