Who Misses the "Good Ole Days"?
Think about it, a few simple months ago...
You log onto hay day, maybe put up a casual "hello there" to your friendly neighbors,
Check your machines, reload production lines for truck orders and townies, harvest and plant new crops,
Have a friendly chat with your friends, asking how their day is,
See who needs what and sell whatever they are missing,
Check out the Daily Dirt for a few minutes and search for some foods or fruits or expansion items for you and the hoodies,
You took time to celebrate the little things like getting a long awaited achievement, or moving up a whole level!
Your neighbors were always fun to be around and you kinda wished everyone was this helpful in real life!
BUT THEN CAME THE DERBY...
When you check the paper now, all you see is wheat, indigo, and the occasional pie, it lacks any diversity.
Bems, Sems, and Lems are scarce as can be,
Now, you come on and load your machines quickly with whatever you can afford to make with your meager amounts of fruit and whatever else the paper is now deprived of,
All the helping that goes on is to FINISH DERBY TASKS,
Members, elders, and Co-leaders alike all seem to run around worrying about the DERBY.
Your normally friendly neighbors now seem very preoccupied with derby tasks 24/7 and only seem to com on for that...
You spend minutes upon minutes cleaning the board for good tasks.
You constantly cannot help but look at the derby board and stress about your score,
Some NHs are being torn apart from all this stress and strain of friendships...
Don't perceive this wrong, i think the original concept for the derby was good, but I also believed the derby had ITS PLACE. I thought it would have been a much better idea to not make the derby a continuous thing over EVERY WEEK. The new derby SC has created, horrid, simply horrid, I now hate the derby with as much passion as the next player, we now participate for prizes, not for FUN. This game has morphed from a fun arm game into a crazy stupid horse race...
The things I personally miss?
* I would load my barn full of hard to find items, and tell all my hoodies that I was having a huge sale, and everyone would show up and share and I just loved making my nh full of friends so happy! I would EMPTY my barn of any and all supplies! To see (and hear) their proverbial smiling faces was a large source of JOY and FUN in this game for me, but sadly those days are now over...
* Another thing? Our weekly organized NH sales, where we had a set date every saturday at 6pm Pacific standard time where everyone from all around the world would come on and EVERYONE would load their shops FULL of goodies for the NH to have first pick! It was such a joyous time, being able to share and laugh and joke with everyone, but those days to, are now a thing of the past...
I just miss the old hay day, and I know others do to...
Simple solution - Introduce Hay Day Solo
It would be so easy for Supercell to address this issue - simply spin off Hay Day into Hay Day Solo - the exact same game without neighborhoods or the Derby. They could either allow you to migrate your current farm or make you start from scratch. Either way, everyone goes home happy. You could even have it both ways by keeping your current farm in the current game and starting a new one in the solo game.
(Then they could spin off Hay Day Solo - Derby version, adding a single player Derby version. Now they have three games churning out revenue in place of one.)
Otherwise, one of the other farming games is going to clone the original (there are close imitations now) and suck up all the players who remember how peaceful it used to be.

This option wouldn't make the DD any better.
The items you want to but most are the ones you probably aren't selling either right ? And like you many others are looking to buy but not many are selling.
Maintaining so many versions also means having to submit the same number of builds each time an update is ready. Meaning much more work and less frequent updates. Seems to me it's not worth the effort for something that is perfectly possible already.
Yes that is very true and a good point! Since players can't buy items they haven't unlocked yet they won't see the ads for something they cannot buy yet. So where I might see an ad for olive oil a lower level might see an ad for BEM.
They can see the items in the shop greyed out with a unlocks at level x across it if something else it advertised but a level 30 something won't see an ad for jelly beans for example. At very low levels there aren't that many products you can have so or store.
If you would take the time to read the responses, you might understand that the nature of the game has changed completely with the introduction of the Derby and neighborhoods. You can jump up and down and make the corporate overlords happy by insisting that black is white, but you're wrong and a solo player does not have the quality of experience than used to be possible.
