Excellent thread! I have really enjoyed reading it. I have been playing HD for 2.5 yrs, so my memories go back a ways. I don't really wish the game to go back. What I DO miss, very much, are the people. So many have left the forum that I so enjoyed hearing from. That is where I wish for "The Good Ole Days".
Remember the good ole days when we thought 16 spam threads was a lot! Ay me, how we can laugh at ourselves now....

I'm sorry to hear that you miss the good ole days of a couple of months ago. I've been here a couple of years. Life on the farm was very different then. In fact, it got rather boring at times.
It took 29 minutes for the newspaper to refresh. So, if you put an item in your shop to sell it better be a good one or it could sit for a long time.
There weren't any neighborhoods. You had to rely solely on your friends and followers to water or fill a boat crate.
Oh, you needed just one jam to fill that last boat crate and you used all your flags. And the jam you needed was at the end of the production line. Two choices, pay Tom to get it or cast the boat off.
There was no fishing spot.
There was no town.
There were no neighborhoods or neighbors to chat with.
There was only our peaceful little farms.
So, as many can see, change is not always a bad thing.
Want a taste of the real good ole days? Leave your NH and don't join another. Don't go to the fishing spot or town and rely solely on yourself, friends, followers and Tom.
I find, for myself, don't look behind, but keep focusing on the positive things and not the negative.
We can play this game any way we choose.
Take a break from the game for a few months. I did once and it helped me to regain my balance and to enjoy the game again.

I cant ant say I miss the way HD used to be. If it didn't change I don't think I would still be playing but I can totally understand all the reminiscing.
