I don't have a TH8 account, but still, why aren't these strategies used often in TH8 war atks? About half the TH8 war bases I see have all 3 ADs in cntr...perfect for govalo and holo...so why isn't it used more often, what am I missing? Are the loons just not high enough lvl...same with valks? Or has like almost nobody thought of this yet?
Why get complicated when you can just full hog or dragon for the same result?

HoLo doesn't work for me, may cause somehow I got a general problem in using balloons... No idea why, but they act very different than I expect them to do...
I skipped the 'full dragon and/or full hog' part of the game and decided for the complicated way early in the game.
Don't know why, but 10-20 seconds of deployment and about 2 minutes or more waiting until AI is done, boring, I'm not designed to do that :D
I think part of it is that TH8's don't upgrade their valks. They focus on the drags and hogs and call it good.
Not sure if missing the jump spell is a critical piece, but it's there. I think the valks can go (insert dumb troop here) and wander off. They are pulled like a magnet to a spot with multiple buildings they can damage. If you don't have the jump spell to help guide them it may ruin a raid.
HoLo can be done at TH8, but it is damned hard to pull off. The difference in HP from level 5 to level 6 balloon is staggering. It may be that it takes too many loons.
I have a mini account and i'm looking forward to trying this theory out. He's only upgrading to TH 7 at the moment though.

Tried HoLo once at TH8, it just isn't as good as mass Dragons or Hogs as Lv 5 Loons aren't that great and Hogs eat away too much camp space for enough Loons. Wizards are also then out of the question, too many high camp space eaters that don't complement each other. You'll also have to account for Ground and Air traps.

anyways, I thought the problem was lvl 5 loons. The difference is indeed massive and has a huge effect on usefulness. Doubt hogs are the problem, lvl 4 is great also. Valks I wasn't so sure, lvl 1/2 isn't too great, but it IS the max for TH8 so it probably does great in the right situation.
@protitans: I meant "ho" as in hogs, not hounds, TH8s can't acquire hounds, CC or normal.
Personally I don't think loons work to well at town hall 8 as well as other things. And as others said, why? Hogs and dragons are good 3* strategies as well as GoWiPe for two. I'm sure some people use them but not as many also maybe because they are harder to master.
