Case 1: you have the resources, but no builders free, in which case you would have the map filled.
Case 2: you collect resources for a bigger upgrade (xbow/inferno) which cost a lot, more than the other buildings do. In this case you'd have the map filled again.
Sorry but in my point of view, the best option there is for you is to just keep track of them yourself. How I did for my buildings was to upgrade one type or two types of buildings at a time, for example I upgraded 2 wizard towers and 2 Air Defences, then when these builders finished, went for the other two.
