As I posted above - I think it would be a great option if the leader could designate one of the COs to be promoted to leader and the number of days that this would happen. The leader could also NOT set these and therefore the leader role could never be taken away from them.
So it would be totally in the control of the leader if they wanted it enabled at all, who got the leader and how many days. And the number of days could easily be like 365 days in a row of no activity.
Why do I think this would have value?
- Leaders sometimes do just stop playing. They truly intend on coming back but just never do. And surely out of the millions of clan leaders out there - some of them have met with an accident making them unable to come back. This leaves the clan leaderless in the sense that no one has ultimate power to kick a CO that may also have gone inactive or perhaps started to get nasty. And if the leader is truly gone and the clan would like to war with 50 people, they now have 5 dead spots that cant war.
- A clan has value now like it never did before Clan XP. Prior to clan XP one simple answer was for someone to make a new clan and everyone else to go to the new clan. Problem solved. But now, with clans leveling up and the perks that go with it - the higher the clan level the less desirable this option becomes. Most of that clan was probably there to help work hard on making that clan level 5+. The option ot just go make a new one and lose all that XP is no longer a valid answer.
- As I said, if the current leader can choose to enable it or not, and if enabled set the amount of days in a row of inactivity it would happen and who would get that promotion - there is no risk of a hostile take over.
If such a feature were available I would enable it in my clan. The hardest choice would simply be which of the great COs I might choose.
