Problems upgrading Golem at TH8

I am a nearly maxed TH8. All I need to do is upgrade walls, new dark spells and golem. I am trying to upgrade my golem, but I get stuck in the 40-45k de range. At this range I can find anywhere between 1k and 2k de per raid. The problem is I have enough de for a good TH9 to easily take 1.5-1.8k de from me. I had this same issue upgrading my Valkyrie but managed to just get 50k de after a war. I dont see 60k de in the foreseeable future. Is there some de farming strategy I'm missing out on? Or is this something that I should do at ThH9, because its not worth the time?

You need to make it more attractive to snipe your townhall than to spend a full army on your base.

- Keep other resources low (build walls)
- Push to a league where the loot bonus is good enough that people snipe you
- Snipe for league bonus
- Put other storages outside
- Raid in sessions
- For the last 5-10k, trade trophies for de by sniping exposed drills.

Personally I didn't bother upgrading golems at th 8.

Yup... best way is to head up to Masters or as high as you can get, it is not uncommon to get snipped 4-10 times in a row... even if its only 4 times in a row, that is 2 days of shields without losing any, then just from your collectors you will gain 4320, add a couple of raids with loot bonus and it climbs really quickly.

Go up in trophies to high crystal. Snipe and trophy push for the bonus. You can easily get enough DE.

Put your TH in the corner and surround it with decorations so they know you're not trapping.

Play in sessions.

Normally what I'd do with insufficient DE is to snipe DE collectors and storages, don't worry about trophies because you can always gain them back by sniping.

Otherwise go to Crystal league and farm those bonuses.

actually i have a townhall 8 base and upgraded the golems only from war bonuses, about 2,600 per war win. it may be slow but it is possible to get 60,000 with just war bonuses.

I wouldn't recommend masters for th8 farming unless u would like an extra builder from the gem bonus as a one off thing. You'll get raided like crazy by th9s pushing to champions. Between gold 1 and crystal 2 is a nice sweet spot for th8 imo.

Be thankful you haven't rushed to TH9. When I was saving up for my queen, raiders kept pushing me under the 35k line no matter how hard I farmed because of my pink walls. After the vicious cycle repeated itself for 3 weeks I just gemmed her.

In your situation, make sure you have at least full purple walls, and get out of silver. It's like a shark tank where they've consumed all the prey and begun to feed on each other, a TH8 is easy loot for them. Try gold 1/2, I find a lot of rushed th10 loaded with DE there. If that doesn't work out for you, go higher.

come to th9, farm in champions league. u get 180,000 gold elixir and 1200 dark for a win. I got my hounds to level 2 and minions to level 3 in 1 week of dark farming. thats 90,000 dark in 1 week ! there is a price for it though; you need to farm about 3 to 4 hours every day for 7 days !
