I don't understand. If you don't know what the word means, what difference then would it make? Just take it as jibberish written as a farm name. I think it only becomes a problem when you do know what it means or if a person is directly trying to harass.Quote:

What is the problem? Do you think taking down foreign languages in the game will actually prevent people from posting inappropriate names in E...n..g...li...sh?? do you wish to learn all the bad words in foreign languages so that your 10 year old (probably doesn't speak any) wont see them on HD farms? I personally haven't found anything except someone who chooses to write a play on the word 'selling wheat' and even the word buttered can't be used in a farm title because of the containment of a certain word that relates to body parts.
if we have so many problems in English, why don't we get rid of that and make sure everybody has to play the Game in Finnish?? Or Chinese? curse words are harder to write in Chinese anyway since it is colloquial and passed as sounds and not as characters (most of the time, writing must be taught in schools, since there is no relationship between the sound and the way characters look)
THAT IS IT! Since there is a 6 billion population speaking this language we should DEFINITELY switch to that instead. Problem solved.
haygirl, you'd LIKE to know what the farm names are. but you can't possibly know everything in this world, can you? im curious, are you only bothered by the farm names or are you in general bothered by another language you don't understand ie. foreign websites, foreign tv shows etc? maybe you need to stop sweating the small stuff and be bothered by the nitty gritty details.

Yes SC can only monitor the thinly disguised curse words so much, but the issue isn't because they make foreign languages possible like Chinese Etc after the update is it? The issue has existed ever since we could change farm titles even in English.
Those are two separate issues. You can't mix the two together. One can curse in English as well.
Maybe SC should monitor the foreign languages as well, but they need time to sort that out in their coding.
Getting rid of the ability to display a language all together just cos you can't read it and don't like it, is completely unreasonable and yes, xenophobic. IMHO

I don't know about censorship in other languages because I play the game in English, but I have seen ordinary words like
decaffeinated turned into: dec****inated
fark is also ****though it's a part of someone's name.
♥♥♥♥, which is a real name in English, turned into ****, dix is also not allowed.
Some friends names : vacation is now ****tion because vaca is apparently a bad word (which I don't know because normally I don't check the urban dictionary to learn these dirty words, but thanks to HD now I know, but I wish I didn't. Honestly I think children who can guess te word vacation might learn it just the same way that I did.......:rolleyes:)

I don't know who came up with this brilliant plan, but... There are farms with swastikas as farm plot shapes, there are far too many things that is simply impossible to control.....
Foreign languages? Welcome any that is unnecessarily turned into **** for saying something like milk in Arabic. maybe that is against the middle east.
I think SC is having a field day with censoring English.
