Where do I find or harvest stakes,which I never seem to get unless I buy them
they are a random drop just like everything else. there is no way to increase the drop rate except to possibly have more of them in your possession than other things that are dropped
You can technically harvest them by wheating, check the forum for more details on that, otherwise, nothing else really that's too efficient.
Drspuds has the right idea. If you have 27 deeds, 23 mallets and 8 stakes, you will very seldom get a stake. If you can stand it, sell/trade the deeds and mallets until you have a more even distribution, then (in my experience and a lot of others) you will start getting stakes.
This! Drops are random. Some items you will get more of and some will be harder to get. For me I get lots of Deeds and lots of Bolts as my drops. I do get other items but those are the two I get most of. When I am short on something, I tend to trade what I have most of for what I need. I try to find someone who gets lots of planks but few bolts, that way we trade.Quote:

Ffwife has a point, some items are rarer. It does not depend on you or what you do, but is pseudo-random. That basically means it seems random but really isn't. Personally, I get lots deeds, duct tape and bolts. I get very few wooden panels, wooden planks, mallets and marker stakes. I have not traded much, but it works decently.Quote:

What I have noticed is that my items change. When we got the new land expansion everyone in my NH needed mallets. No one could get enough. I decided that I wouldn't expand right away since I am not a decorator. I gave my NH all of my LEm for a couple weeks. Then I guess they were all done because no one asked for anymore. I finally got enough mallets but since I had given away all my stakes, I was short of those now. I always had deeds, at least this time around and it seemed like every time I popped Toms balloon I got a stake. Now stakes are rare for me. Go figure. There probably is something to the theory that if you keep your balances even, you get a more balanced drop rate.Quote:
