CC or X-Bows?

Hi, I am going to be upgrading to Town Hall 9 in probably a month, but I have already started preparation. When I first get there, I will be getting AQ > Lab > Spell Factory > Dark Spell Factory bought/upgraded. But I need something to spend my gold on since I will have one builder left.

I've heard X-Bows really mark up your rank in war; but also deter a lot more people from attacking your normal base outside of war. Or, my Clan Castle. The extra chance for offense could improve my attacks, and 5 more spaces would be great for defense. And, it won't boost my war ranking (I think?). However, most people buy X-Bows first thing at Town Hall 9.

So, which one should I do? Buy both X-Bows or upgrade Clan Castle? Advice and any help is appreciated, thanks :)

Clan castle for sure. Always focus on offense first! Clan castle, lab, spell factories (one at a time) and camps should be top priority. Do defensive upgrades only when you don't have the loot for an offensive one.

Buy one xbow then cc then 2nd xbow.

Clan castle, camps and spells are the priority. The reason being is that if you have more troops, your yield for a farming raid will be much higher. Furthermore, greater cc capacity means more troops to defend your base -- which is a must as a new th9.

Are you a maxed TH8 yet? What do you have let to uograde?
any extra resources you have should go into walls at TH9, walls are EXTREMELY important.

Do you war? If so, get a decent TH9 offense (220 slots, death loons, upgrade your CC, get all your new troops, death loons, max spell factories, etc) before you even think about dropping an xbow.

How about building an x-bow first then upgrading your clan castle and then building the 2nd x bow.
