Defend Your Troops With The Ironclad Spell!

Here I will be explaining the ironclad spell as well as strategies, nerfs, and ways it will improve clash of clans. I am open to suggestions and if you vote that this is a bad spell please explain why. But enough chit-chat. Let's talk about:

The Ironclad Spell

Let's start off small with what it does, shall we?
When deployed, it will create a clear metal shield (so you can still see the troops). This shield will have to be destroyed before troops can be targeted, but defenses inside the spell will still be able to attack your troops, altough if defenses inside the spell actually manage to kill off your troops within the spell they will have to destroy the Ironclad Spell before they can target other troops.

Flying troops can not be shielded because they're too high and it's a little too OP in general.
(Lava Hounds + Balloons + Minions + Haste and/or Ironclad)
This is dumb, it's just like the heal spell.
No it's not. Troops inside an Ironclad Spell will not be fired upon. The Heal Spell does not protect weak troops very well because they are one-hit killed by defenses anyway. Thus they can not be healed. Flying troops are not affected by this either, but the heal spell can still heal them.
Possible Stats (Final Stats are up to Supercell)
Radius of Spell: 3.75 tiles

Level 1:

• 1,800 Hitpoints
• 180 Dark Elixir to Create

Level 2:

• 2,100 Hitpoints
• 205 Dark Elixir to Create

​Level 3:

• 2,400 Hitpoints
• 240 Dark Elixir to Create

Possible Strategies This Spell Would Be Present In:

• GoWiPe and GoWiWi
  
  • Toss an Ironclad Spell onto the golems followed by a heal if needed.
  • Or toss an Ironclad Spell onto the wizards followed by a rage.
  
  
• Barch
  
  • Throw Ironclad Spells down to prevent serious fire on your troops (barch needs a boost, building hitpoints have been heavily boosted at the higher level)

Nerfs (Things which prevent it from being OP)

• Does not affect air troops
• Inferno Towers will be able to destroy this easily once they reach the third stage (which now charges up faster as of the July 1st update) of their single-target beam.
  
  • Maxed defenses are also more than capable of destroying this spell.

Ways this would improve Clash:

• Currently 85% of their players do not use the single-target Inferno Tower setting (from what I've seen). This would bring in more diversity to Inferno Towers and really improve multiplayer.
• The Ironclad Spell would be a useful substitute for the freeze spell in cases where freeze spells will not aid your troops much even if used.
• Although the Inferno Tower will still destroy this spell easily, it would be a useful tool in the event where your troops are low on health but a Heal Spell will not help them.

User Suggested Changes:

• A minor change in how the spell works against defenses.
• Reduced hitpoints by about 900 at each level.
• More strategy detail

I like it, I think it could be a good addition to the new DE spell factory. What about having it decrease the damage done to units by a percentage rather than having its own hitpoints? For example 20 percent less damage would keep archers from being one shotted by level 6 wizard towers and mortars.

So you said that ground targeting defences cannot attack troops inside of the ironclad, what if you placed the iron clad over defences instead of troops, would that produce the same effect as the freeze spell??

I was considering that myself, but after hearing your thoughts, I thought of a solution.

In the thread, it was mentioned that defenses inside the spell would be able to attack the troops inside the spell. Technically if they succeed and slay them all they will also have to shoot the shield before being able to attack troops.

Ok so if I placed an iron clad, with no troops in it, over a cannon, it would have to shoot the iron clad until it's HP depleted fully and then it could attack troops outside the spell again??

You could perform a maneveur like that but a freeze would be better. I am saying that if

1. Troops were in the spell.
2. Defenses also within the spell can shoot the troops.
3. If they succeed, technically they have to also shoot away the spell before they can attack other troops.

This is really good and I hope it gets into the game!

I thought this was a lot like freeze spell at first, but poison/EQ is like lightning and haste is like rage. I also thought this might be useless, as you said, but when I remember it takes up half space it seems alright.

Sorry, I don't like this idea because we already have 2 spells that can basically work the same as this spell idea in terms of defending your troops and keeping them alive. Instead of creating a new spell for the type of strategy you were hoping for, just think of the Heal spell and Freeze spell. One of these spells or both of them together can basically serve a very similar purpose. We don't need a shield-type spell if we have a Heal Spell.

I also had the same idea but was the ability of my new hero builder master!!

No, because a shield spell just wouldn't be necessary if we already have a few spells that can already do something like this without having to shield them. Instead of shielding units, we can heal them, we don't need this spell because of the Heal and Freeze spell. This spell would not work because it can only shield units if the defenses are outside the ring, the defenses inside would still easily begin to pick off units. The spell doesn't work if units are still being killed within it... Explain why YOU think it's a good idea, because all you told me is that it's better, and I'm simply saying it is not with detail.

Neat idea for a new spell! Very well thought out and creative.

However, please consider:
1. Seeing as the new Dark Spell Factory mainly creates core components of pre-existing elixir spells, I would say that this is a better addition to the old Spell Factory (mostly because it's quite unique from other spells). Also, this is a pretty powerful, probably too powerful for it to be a Dark Spell Factory spell (spells only take 1 spell space).
2. One question I had in mind as I read this; since this is a spell that creates a metal shield over the battle area, will troops be able to walk in and out of it, or are they stuck inside until the shield is broken? I feel it would be more convenient if the spell was a transparent barrier, not solid.
3. Based off #1, this would most likely be a TH11 spell (if it comes out as an elixir spell).

Also, just to clarify, the spell lasts forever until the shield is broken, or does it have a timeout limit?

Instead of speeding up units with the haste spell, we can use the rage. What you have just said is more or less the same as this statement.. The spell will offer a whole new gameplay, placing it on your troops will prove more effective than the heal spell as archers can be OHK by cannons even under heal, this spell will prevent that. It can be used effectively alongside a freeze spell to help troops clear out defences quickly.

Ok, you probably have very little knowledge of clash. Heal spells don't heal dead troops. If an archer is one-shotted by a defense, you can't heal it. This will prevent defenses from destroying your troops that easily. Now stop arguing with me, the poll is 14-2 as of now. Do you really think everyone's gonna listen to you?

I agree that this should be a de spell. Other than that, this is a very good idea.
