Excellent idea!!!

Signed. Not sure why this wasn't done yet.
The only possible complaint is that it's harder to intentionally drop trophy's but i'll deal with it.
Signed.
Agree with the confirm/cancel pop up
this has been suggested severally in the past, but i cannot remember has supercell admins responded.
anyway, where is the pool because i want to sign a big YES for this feature to be added. or at least an attack button like it is in wars that commits you to a base.
(we enjoy the game already as it is, but adding it should make it even more interesting)
This is a thing? Why haven't you made this happen yet, Supercell? It's not a ridiculous request nor is it a supermassive load of coding to make this happen. Do it already!
Its a YES for me, SIGNED!
I support the intent of the idea, but perhaps we need to rethink attacking to make this work "right".
So, I have a counter (or perhaps sister?) proposal: When searching, you get a Next and an Attack button. You then have thirty seconds to either move on to the next base, or decide you want to attack; if, after thirty seconds, you do not tap Attack, so sorry, on to the next base (or perhaps back to your village so the game doesn't auto-deduce the gold from your storages).
[Aside: my personal rule is that if I need thirty seconds to decide if I'm going to attack, I don't need to attack that base and I'm overthinking it.]
If you do decide to attack, you tap Attack, and then the buttons go away and you can select troops; the Attack button disappears and is replaced by the (still smaller) Surrender button. Your 3 minutes starts and everything proceeds as it always has otherwise (I still miss 3:30, by the way). If necessary (or if deemed necessary) a Confirm prompt can appear ("Are you sure you want to attack this village?" Yes! / No!) that times out after an additional few seconds (five, perhaps?). It might be prudent to allow a toggle for the Confirm option in Settings, and/or have it defaulted to Off so that players can configure it to suit their style (some people might be irritated by a constant Confirm prompt).
This way, you cannot attack unless you direct the game that you intend to; it should only take a small bit of code and a new graphic to implement, but guarantees you cannot accidentally attack someone anymore.
Parenthetically, I once nodded off while searching, and my hand drooped down, my finger touched the screen, and deployed all 8 of my wallbusters against a maxed TH10 (I was a baby 9 at the time). I woke up, saw the timer going and my brave wallbusters charging hopelessly in a single unbroken line towards an exposed inferno tower, swore, and tried to attack. 36% no star. It was hilariously infuriating.
(Full disclosure: No, I did not read all 70 pages of the thread.)

I agree
Yes...This really needs to be there
